[Expired] Drop App: $50 Bonus for Referring Five Friends ($5 Signup Bonus for New Members)

This deal has expired, view more Drop deals here.

The Offer

The Drop app is sending out a special referral offer:

  • Get $50 when you refer 5 friends who join and link a card.

The new member gets a $5 bonus (5,000 points) as well.

Check your emails for this offer. You can find your referral code by clicking the heart button at the top-left corner in the app. (Note, the offer does not seem to be showing there, only in the email.)

The Fine Print

  • Friends must link a card to Drop and confirm their account via email.
  • Promotion runs through May 30.
  • $50 in Drop points will be awarded to you on May 31st.
  • Promotion capped at $50 per 5 referrals.

Our Verdict

I got an email about this offer – I think it’s public for everyone (?).

Appreciate anyone who uses our referral code: doctorofcredit. The Drop app is worth giving a whirl given the occasional offers, portal opportunities, and card-link offers. For example, they still have an offer to get $2 per $1k in Plastiq payments.

It’s interesting that the  bonus for the new member was initially $1, but now it’s showing as $5. I’m not sure when it went up to $5 – that seems to be a development not related to this $50 referral offer, but it can make it more enticing to get friends to signup.

  • There's no benefit for referring more than five friends, so posting referrals either here or on another thread should be fine.

  • Bad experience with drop. They stopped updating my points and took them 2 months to reply to my emails. They suspended my account for MS - which I don’t do lol

    • Same.

Making 5-10 <$5 book purchases on amazon weekly and they stopped crediting all points. A few weeks after emailing they stated I was running a business (false)

I delinked and relinked as the email said. Still nothing. Than they said I was doing MS or some other abuse (only abusing amazon's $1 off digital credit for no rush shipping)

Than they stopped responding. Been about 2 months since last contact.

Sitting right at 9700 points or so, so conveniently for them they won't be paying out.

      • The same issue here. They are denying points from grocery shopping and everyday purchases. I have emailed them several times with no response. I have multiple cards linked but no luck getting any points. I am not using them anymore.

    • They did the same to me but reinstated my account and gave me all my points except 1 vgc from Walgreens. They even gave me all my points for vgc from walmart.

    • Agreed, I think they are hit or miss, but usually it's free money so could be worth it.

  • I’d like to know if I can post a referral link too 😬😬😬
Must be public btw! I got that email.

  • Got it too. Dare I ask if we're allowed to post referrals? After the Chime fiasco, I will assume not.

  • I got it, too, must be public... make sure you get credit for your referrals. I've had several people use my code and I didn't get any points for it... have a blessed day!!
