Drop: Get 15% Back At Apple (Includes iPhone, Airpods, Apple Watch, Mac & More)

The Offer

  • Drop app is offering 150 points per dollar on Apple purchases. That equates to 15% back in the form of gift cards to merchants like Amazon, Uber, Best Buy, etc.

The Fine Print

  • This offer is slated to last Monday and Tuesday, 8/19/19 – 8/20/19.
  • Member must follow steps and meet all criteria on the offer page to receive points.
  • Please allow up to 80 days after purchase posts to your statement for Drop points to be posted.
  • Offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promo codes.
  • Exclusions: Points are issued by Drop, not Apple. Products not eligible for points are gift cards, gift wrap, trade-in program, Bose products, Apple Developer Programs and shipping.
  • Apple sells and ships products to end user customers only; you may not purchase for resale.
  • Eligible only to a customer for up to five (5) units per eligible product, except iPhone, in which case only two (2) units within a thirty-day (30-day) period are eligible.

Our Verdict

Drop has run offers like this in the past, see this post. Judging from the comments there, it seems like the tracking and posting of the points are a mixed bag. Personally, I’d risk it since the upside here is so great (portals don’t typically offer much for Apple purchases).

See other portal offers here. Just bear in mind, many shopping portals do not offer rewards on iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, iPads, etc. This Drop offer does include all of those, as do some other portals. See Which Shopping Portal Should You Use for Apple Purchases? for more information.

For those who prefer shopping on the computer, Drop can send you a shopping link to your email. You’ll see the option in the Drop app.

If you’re new to Drop, you can get 500 points ($5) for signing up and linking a card when you signup with a referral code. Our code is: doctorofcredit.

  • So if this is a portal reward, I can use any credit card, not just my linked ones, right? Want to use the Apple card for my purchase.

  • Considering it says it cannot be combined with other offers, I assume that means it wouldn't work with the current Back to School education pricing promo going on right now?

    • I did it yesterday and they are showing pending on everything I bought outside of my MacBook Pro, cause it has the discount to cover the cost of the headphones so. I think you are right that you won’t get points on the purchase of the MacBook. Pretty deceptive! They advertised the promo on their email?

      • How long did it take to show as pending? I purchased a Macbook Pro w/ Beats promo yesterday and it isn't showing for me yet. I'll be pretty annoyed if they showed this promo in their email and are not honoring it

  • I never got points from my last purchase of iphone... I didn't even bother to contact them coz I heard many negative stories about them..wasn't worth it to me...

  • I think I got blacklisted from drop for earning a grand total of $30 in gift cards. No points ever post on anything. Even on small purchases without gift cards at merchants where my cards are linked. I wouldn’t trust these folks at all. If you have blackballed me then say so. But it seems petty based on my $30 in earnings. Speaking of which, I need to ask them to close my account as it is now useless.

    • Just messaged them to close my account. Wouldn't surprise me if while I have been blackballed, they still earn commissions from me somehow. Friend in the business world told me that these people have been seeking investor money at crazy valuations.

    • Maybe your account needs to be re linked to your spend accounts? I’m up to $120 in rewards and I haven’t had an issue

    • I never even had the pleasure of buying gift cards. Nothing ever works for me, ever. No idea why.

    • I have $24.50 available, 50 cents shy of the cash out minimum. Been denied for Staples once or twice since.

    • My understanding is that those limits are for card linked rewards (which don't require a click-through), whereas PORTAL rewards (which require a click through) do not have any limit.

      • Correct. The "power offers" are limited to $5/week. This offer and any of the other portal offers usually have no limit (if there is, it'd be listed in the terms of the offer). This certainly doesn't have that limit, since product suggestions on the app show well over 5,000 points that you could be earning for buying certain products.
