The American Express Platinum and Business Platinum cards got a major revamp today, and the new benefits are already live for existing Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders. However, the increased annual fee ($695 –> $895) isn’t changing for those whose renewals are due soon:
- Existing Business Platinum cardmembers will not see the higher annual fee until their next renewal date or after December 2, 2025.
- Existing Consumer Platinum cardmembers will not see a higher annual fee until their next renewal date on or after January 2, 2026.
Anyone with a renewal in the next couple of months won’t see the huge $895 annual fee until late in 2026 during their next renewal.
