The Offer
- Farmers Insurance Federal Credit Union (FIGFCU) is offering a $150 referral bonus to both parties. Bonus is broken down as follows:
- $50 when your referral opens a Checking account with Direct Deposit of at least $1,000/month for two consecutive months.
- Earn $50 more when they open any Savings or Certificate account with a minimum of $10,000 for two consecutive months.
- Earn an additional $50 when your referral opens a Signature Loan or Line of Credit with a minimum loan balance of $10,000.
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.
Our Verdict
Don’t think this is worth doing as it requires such a huge deposit for half of the bonus. Feel free to share your referrals in the comments below.

Their Variable Rate Certificate has a good rate (5.75%) but don't know how long it will last and the term is 36 months.
It can go up or down as soon as the 1st of the calendar month after opening (and/or every 1st of the month after that)
there is also this 250 bonus https://figfcu.org/high-yield-checking-google-search?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=high_yield_checking&utm_id=ddep&utm_content=high_yield_checking_july_2024&utm_keyword=bank%20deposit%20bonus&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrKu2BhDkARIsAD7GBov2LxYZ_mBgdiNkPyMWuxX3TyXlp0Zaqd8KbpMlIfzaGrKDYDI8stQaAgtBEALw_wcB
Has anyone applied yet for this one? Chex sensitive? Credit pull?
Looks like you can't stack the two, so the $250 is better &easier.
"Offer cannot be combined with any other new member offer and is limited to one bonus per account and per Member.'
A perfect bonus to share with former friends and some coworkers, but I'd advise against current friends and family....
Their "signature" loans and LOCs have an APR of well over 10%....Open one for $10k as required, and you'll pay THE BANK back your $150 bonus in less than 2 months! Nuts.
Was sent this alternative offer for DD requirements

What a tiny bonus...
We need a "Worst Bank Account Bonuses" page.
Also a worst bank/CU page. This one is truly chaotic.
For the bank it's actually a pretty big bonus, if someone falls for it.... ;-)
