[Expired] Fidelity: Create A Goal & Get $25 Bonus [Most Readers Ineligible]

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Fidelity is offering a $25 bonus to customers who opened or open a new, eligible Fidelity account between September 6, 2022 and December 31, 2022, and create a Goal between December 2, 2022 and December 31, 2022.

The Fine Print

  • You must create a Goal between December 2, 2022 and by December 31, 2022.
  • For purposes of this offer, “Create a Goal” shall mean clicking “Create your Goal” on the New Account Checklist Banner, choosing the Goal you wish to create, and following the steps until you reach and click on “View Analysis”, “View Results”, or “Get Results” on the respective Goal. Once you are redirected to the results page, you will be registered for the bonus award.
  • You must create a Goal from the New Account Checklist banner, those who create a Goal without visiting the New Account Checklist banner will not receive a bonus award.
  • The New Account Checklist banner can be accessed either through your “Welcome to Fidelity” email, or by logging into Fidelity.com, going to the Portfolio Summary page, and clicking on your New Account Checklist.
  • Goals created before December 2, 2022 do not qualify; however, provided you have opened a new eligible account between September 6, 2022 and December 1, 2022, you may enter a new Goal and qualify for the bonus award.
  • The Goal must be created by December 31, 2022.
  • Account holders must maintain the bonus award (minus any losses related to trading or market volatility, or margin debit balances) in the account for at least 90 days from the date on which the bonus award is credited to the account. Fidelity may charge accounts that fail to comply with this requirement the cost of the bonus award.
  • There are no funding requirements to receive your bonus award.

Our Verdict

Looks like the offer isn’t valid for anybody that signed up for the $100 or $150 bonus, meaning most (if not all) readers will be ineligible.

  • The stupidity of these agents is just unbelievable He is saying I did not qualify because of this

"This offer is nontransferable and limited to $25 per individual. Individuals who took
advantage of Fidelity's previous $50 for $100 offer for $50 for $150 offer within the last
12 months will not be eligible for this offer."

And I am telling him that the key word is previous, but not getting into his thick skull

    • It sounds like most of us won't be eligible for that $35 bonus. "This offer is valid for existing Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC ("Fidelity") customers who previously opened but did not fund an eligible Fidelity account and received the Fidelity offer communication."

  • I got $25 yesterday. I had opened a CMA around 11/21 (got $150 bonus on 12/13) and I set the goal on 12/15 (see my comment in this thread from that date for the link).

    • Nice, I just noticed I got it too courtesy of your link below @guest_1510881. I was shown/targeted the offer after logging in with that link and I opened a CM account recently for $150 bonus as well. Didn’t expect it to pay out until after next month.

        • I did the $100 promo in 2021 opening the regular brokerage (not CMA). I have many Fidelity accounts I actually use.

          • @guest_1512823 do you keep them open or close them after getting the bonus?
I opened a CMA and 2 Fidelity Bloom (Spend and Save)

I guess I can keep the CMA open as that doesnt seem to cause issues with future promotions, right?

Any advise on what to do with Bloom?

            thanks

          • I keep them all open. Fidelity doesn’t have existing account churnability terms.

          • Thank you!
I reduced then all down to 0.01. I have turned sour on Fidelity after a recent experience

My P2 had trouble with the $25 goal bonus. When I called in early Jan, I was told they will give manual credit, I just need to wait till Jan end.
When I called in early Feb, got a downright hostile a$$hole, kept repeating some nonsense and almost called me a free loader.
FINRA is another joke, filed a complaint and this woman calls me and right of the bat says she hasnt read my complaint but starts making excuses for Fidelity, one after another. I called FINRA’s office of ombudsman and filed a complaint on her ass too. I gave after that though 🙂

The only recourse is to file for arbitration if you have the time/energy for that. This is what self regulation gets you

  • I got $25 to my recently opened CMA (end of Nov) presumably for the goal that I set sometime last week.

I enrolled in the $150 promo which I did not receive automatically. I asked support and got a manual $150 credit so I came out ahead I think with $175 total.

  • Looks like Bloom spend and save accounts not eligible. Oddly enough, in fine print in one area it says you can open an account till 12/31, like a basic brokerage account, and qualify.
