The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Open a Premier or Connections Business Checking account with Community First Credit Union and get a $25 gift card to one of four restaurants (Applebee’s, Chili’s, Red Lobster or Olive Garden) and $100 hotel cash (it’s actually $100 off a two night or more stay).

The Fine Print

  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

There is an opening fee of $5 which is unavoidable, this is put into your share account. According to their fee schedule there is an early account termination fee of $10 if you close the account within 6 months of account opening. There are two accounts you can open:

Connections Business Checking $19.95 Monthly Fee

Waived if you do any of the following:

  • 25 monthly debit card transactions or
  • a combined average of $10,000 in business deposit balances (shares, money markets, CDs) or
  • have a combined business loan of at least $50,000

Premier Business Checking $12.95 Monthly Fee

Waived with $5,000 average monthly balance to avoid monthly fee.

Our Verdict

I’m a bit wary of the $100 in hotel cash as they don’t say who the offer is with and if there are any other requirements other than it having to be a two night stay, it does say it can be used at 200,000 hotels nationwide – but that’s not exactly a lot and it’s also impossible to tell if they will be overpriced. Because of that I can’t recommend this bonus, especially when there are much better business bank bonuses out there.
