Avoiding Fees

The checking account doesn’t have any monthly fees to worry about. The savings account has a monthly fee of $10 if the balance is under $100. There is no early account termination fee but you do need to keep your membership open for six months otherwise you will be charged a $5 fee.

Our Verdict

Only the business $300 bonus is really worth considering as the additional $200 for a personal account requires a loan or credit card and that would result in a hard pull. None of their credit cards are worth considering either. How good the business bonus is will likely depend on what the opening requirements are and how long it takes. If anybody has any experiences with this bank then please share them in the comments below.

For now we won’t be adding it to our list of the best business checking bonuses.

  • @will Looks like this deal is still available:
"Offer valid as of March 1, 2022 and may be canceled at any time without notice"

"To qualify for the $300 incentive, all owners of the business must establish $5 membership accounts, and the business must open a Business Savings account (minimum $100 to open), a Free Business Checking account (minimum $100 to open), an online banking account, eStatement, eNotice, and a debit card, and must make deposits totaling at least $5,000 in a calendar month for two of the first six months of account opening and complete five transactions (deposits, withdrawals, etc.) within the first 45 days."

What has changed though is that to get the additional $200, no more credit card/loan requirement, just open the checking account and make a $500 DD within 45 days:
"To qualify for the $200 incentive, you must open a new Free Checking account with direct deposit ($500 cumulative which must post within 45 days of account opening), as well as accept and open online banking, online bill payment, eStatement, eNotice, and a debit card. No dividends are paid on Free Checking"

Must be done in branch though so quite restrictive.

  • I know that the personal accounts require a hard pull on your credit report, EX. I am unsure if it is the same for business accounts, though.

  • Hmm somewhat interested here, there's not a branch in my city, but there is one 2 hours away near my parents. If they allowed mobile deposits, then I could make this work since just depositing a check of $5k 1 time/month for 2 months would be fairly easy. If anyone knows if they allow mobile deposits please let me know. Maybe I'll call Monday to find out.

The other somewhat concerning criteria is "Any business EIN that has been paid a business checking incentive will not qualify for the $300 incentive". That's got to mean, a bonus earned with them...right? How could they possibly know if my EIN has received a bonus from some other bank? Or is there a way they could know that? Because then, I'd definitely be disqualified.

    • I am a member of this credit union but I do not have a business so I don't know if they allow mobile deposits on business accounts. They do offer the service on personal accounts with a $5,000 daily maximum deposit limit. As far as them knowing about bonuses at other banks, there is no way they would know that. I am certain they mean you can't get this bonus if you've ever gotten a bonus from them under an EIN.
