The Offer
- GTE Financial Credit Union is offering a bonus of $100 when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Use promo code CHECK100
- Receive a direct deposit of $500 or more within 60 days of account opening
The Fine Print
- Promotion active from 9/1/2020 through 10/31/2020.
- In order to receive the incentives listed above, the specified promotional codes must be used in the “Promotional Code” field of the appropriate application.
- In order to qualify for the $100 checking account incentive, the member must not have previously had a checking account with GTE Financial and must set up monthly recurring direct deposits totaling $500 or more from non-GTE accounts within 60 days of opening the account.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

I wasn’t able to find any mention of an early account termination fee in the fee schedule
Our Verdict
We recently saw a $200 bonus with the same requirements. Given this is a $100 bonus and a hard pull I don’t think this is worth doing and won’t add it to the best bank bonus page.

Any idea what is a "regular share account" and how to keep it free? (see image and pay attention to the different dividend rate: "0.75%" : https://snipboard.io/8EXr5z.jpg. Currently I have 300usdon it and I dont know if I can move it somewhere else or whatnot, I know its not a savings, I know its not my 5usd member owner share, I know its not a checking account neither...
When is the cut off day for waiving the checking fee? I cant recall if mine is 10 or 11th, IDK if its the same for everybody...

Hey Guys, didnt this bank use to have credit card funding up to $1k-$5k at one point? I opened an account with them in past years to hit my AMEX spending limit but see its now listed at $500.
