  • MIDFLORIDA Credit Union is offering a bonus of $200 when you open a personal checking account, requirements are as follows:
    • Open a Free Checking account and set up direct deposit
    • Post $500 by direct deposit within 45 days of account opening
    • Open online banking, online bill payment, eStatement, eNotice, and a debit card
    • Receive $200 into your new Free Checking account

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid as of March 12, 2021 and may be cancelled at any time.

  • To qualify for the $200 incentive, you must open a new Free Checking account with direct deposit ($500 cumulative which must post within 45 days of account opening), as well as accept and open online banking, online bill payment, eStatement, eNotice, and a debit card.
  • The incentive will be deposited to new Free Checking account after the qualifications have been met, and will be reported to the IRS. Minimum to open Free Checking is $50.
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict

There is also a $300 business checking bonus that comes with a $200 personal checking bonus but that $200 personal checking bonus required a loan whereas this doesn’t. This one can also be opened online.

  • Has anyone received a $100 bonus where they were the referrer (gave a code to someone else)?
    Has anyone received a $200 bonus where they were the referree (used a code from someone else)?

    I have received neither, so far. Now that I have received the sign-up bonus, I'm starting to think about how to straighten out the referral bonus mess (if possible).

  • Does anybody know how long it takes to get the $100 referral bonus? The FAQ say you should get it once the referred person fulfills their requirements. The referred person already received their bonus, but I have yet to receive my hundred dollars. I was there when they opened their account and entered my referral code so I know it was done right.

    Any data points are appreciated, thank you.

    • Had my referrals open their accounts on 12/4 and as of 1/3, have not yet seen any $100 referral bonuses.

    • My P2 opened on 29 Nov and received the 400 bonus on 12 Dec. We live in the same household and I received the referral bonus of 100 on 28 Dec.

    • Does the referred person live in the same household? I think I saw something about that not being allowed for the referral.

  • had some issues at first but bonus arrived last week, did a Wells Fargo transfer and 5x PayPal reloads and 5x cashapp reloads
