Our Verdict
Previously the bonus was 40k points +1 x coupons. This might be a better deal for those that can use the coupons. Might be worth waiting to see if a dummy booking comes along with an additional $100 statement credit but I don’t think we have seen that since FNBO became the card issuer.

Has anyone tried to churn this card since they relaunched Amtrak with FNBO?
One time with BoA a few years ago I opened two of the same card within a year—I’m trying to understand if anyone else has tried this yet with the new bank.
The 40000 offer also came with two companion and two upgrades
Be aware this bank. They will lower your CL to 10% of the original without any notice. I had one card with them. My util-ratio was 1%, perfect payment history, no baddies, credit score ~800. I started to use that card more often, you know what, they CLD me because I used it more.
They don't trust customers.
right on target.one of the worst banks in US indeed. wasting time in lending business instead they should be in food industry . i have this card with 21k limit and i know it would go down to 2k anytime and for no reason ..transferred from bank of America
They do have issues, quote you one credit limit using prescreen tool, give you way less after applying (you know they see the same thing between a soft and hard pull fyi). If you every actually use the promo offer of 0% they will freak out and start lowering your credit line, even if you make min. on time payments. It's quite bizarre. If I get a 0% promo card, I'm going to use that card for a planned big purchase and take my sweet time paying it. They don't seem to like that.
Got similar email from Barclay's with same offer for Amtrack card. Can one get both cards?
I think you mean FNBO. Barclays doesn't have this portfolio.
I saw a 20k + $100 credit for the Preferred card while booking a trip. So the $100 credit does exist, but not combined with this offer.

Got an email from fnbo

@will
How long have you had the card and were you using it?
Had it for 3 years and 0 spend after getting the sign up bonus lol
can you downgrade after a year?
According to this thread, no. (Strange, right?).

It's not stated in the terms: are the companion coupons basically a "buy 1, get 1 free" coupon? If so, do they have expiration dates?
I think they're usually 1 year, and only apply to cash purchases, not points, and not rooms.
companion coupon can apply to rooms too. but class upgrade coupon can not apply to rooms.
Never had an FNBO card. Are there any best practices when it comes to this bank?
consider yourself very lucky if you've never been judged for having FNBO
Haha what's the stigma?? And are they known for being sensitive, or have any application rules? Thanks
@guest_1635541 sorry just a joke -- F'N B.O.
I get it now haha
FBNO is known to frequently reduce credit lines when spoked. They get spoked easily.
