What value would you put on 40k points? e.g. if one were to use on the NY-DC route and nothing fancy
thanks
I got an email today that annual fee card is 40k points through 4/23. The link in the email leads straight to the application form that asks for my membership number. Maybe targeted to current members?
Got the same email an hour ago
Bonus is now a measly 20k points! Any speculation on when it might go back to 30k?
I had the Amtrak 79$ annual fee card through BofA, and after the switch to FNBO, I tried calling them to downgrade to the no fee card, but the agent on the phone said that they cannot downgrade and I would have to cancel the card instead. This just smells like bullshit, because I'd never heard of a bank refusing to downgrade a credit card when a no fee option is available. Anyone else tried doing this and had the same experience?
I had the same problem. My fee hit just before the transfer to FNBO and BofA told me to call FNBO. When I called FNBO they told me to apply for the no annual fee card if I wanted a no annual fee card.
Would it be possible to downgrade Preferred to a no-annual fee card later?
FYI for people who aren’t aware, you can’t use the companion coupon when you book with points.
I don't think the free card has this benefit: Complimentary Companion Coupon, One-Class Upgrade and a single-day ClubAcela® pass for access to ClubAcela, Amtrak Metropolitan LoungeSM or First class
The BOA card had no FT fees. I take it this version does?
@guest_1472652 Neither of these cards has FT fees.
I will wait until we get good road system in US
Two questions here:
1) Let's say I wanted a huge amount of Amtrak points for an across the country sleeper trip... Is there anything in the terms that I'm missing for signing up for the regular no AF card and then also signing up for the preferred card?
2) Would having one of these cards open help towards opening other FNBO products that are geo restricted? I'm eyeing the evergreen biz 2% card.
