- IHG is offering free Platinum status for 120 days. You can also keep or upgrade your status until the end of 2023 by completing the following night requirements within that 120 days:
- Platinum status: 5 nights

The Fine Print
- The Promotion registration period begins on May 18, 2022 and ends on July 31, 2022

business trip coming up. I did the July platinum status challenge. July 5th to November 5th. Hit Platinum, is it really worth it to get to 15 nights? I have a trip to Europe Nov 20th-30th but I am wondering if I should try and hit Diamond.
Is anyone able to register? The pulldown menu does not show any of the hotel programs and no "register now" button appears. Same issue both on Safari and Chrome.
Looks like they fixed the error, but here is the direct link: https://www.ihg.com/rewardsclub/us/en/offers/promoreg/?promoCode=59803&offerCode=59803&offerId=SC22
Why was the question I posed yesterday on this post deleted? I posted yesterday at 11:42am, and it still shows in my account but on on this this page. At the time I posted, there were already several comments from others from yesterday morning. Yet now mine and several others from yesterday seem to have disappeared. (None of the now-deleted comments posted yesterday morning--including mine--were in any way worthy of bowdlerizing. They were just basic comments and questions about this IHG promo.)
Happy to get a couple thumbs up, and this comment is solid, but it definitely wasn't me. I'm on a chromebook, idk how to even put things in italics on it. Strange.
I think IHG are realizing that their new reward program isn’t motivating anyone to stay with them.
I have a 5 day reservation starting on July 23rd. I would like to start the 120 day clock as close to that date as possible.
How long does this promo take to process? How soon is your Platinum status reflected in your account?
PS I am over 5/24 and have no status.
mine was instant
Mine reflected platinum status instantly once I logged out and back in.
Do I need existing status to match to Platinum?
No, you do not.
If it's Platinum status you're after, you get it year after year after year by holding a annual-fee Chase IHG credit card that also gives you a free night certificate annually (after the first year). (The new no-annual-fee Chase IHG credit card only give you Gold status.)
Silver status with Chase IHG Traveler $0 AF. https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/ihg/traveler/silver-status
Yes, but as you can in my detailed post above (once it's moderator approved), different parts of the Chase website says very different things. The comparison site (which is what I had originally looked at) actually claims, incorrectly, that it gives Gold Elite Status! And another site says you can earn Gold Elite Status through spend, but doesn't spell out that you get Silver Elite Status automatically. What a mess Chase has with this very different information on different web pages.
Doesn't the no-AF Chase IHG cc only give Silver status without the extra 20k annual spend?
Probably, but Chase's websites about this card are very confusing. One Chase website:
https://creditcards.chase.com/travel-credit-cards/ihg
let you compare cards and on the comparison website, in the comparison chart, it claims you get Gold status. That's the one I looked at first, when wrote I my original post above.
If you click Learn More there, you get this Chase website:
https://creditcards.chase.com/travel-credit-cards/ihg-rewards-club/traveler
which only mentions the Gold with 20k spend and doesn't mention Silver status.
Yet another Chase website:
https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/ihg/traveler/earn-rewards
only says you earn Silver status, and mentions nothing about the Gold with 20k spend.
Can Chase possibly make this any more confusing?
I guess so. Different Chase sites say very different things.
This Chase website:
https://creditcards.chase.com/travel-credit-cards/ihg
claims to let you compare cards, and when you do, it says in the comparison chart, only:
Additional Benefits for IHG® Rewards Premier Credit Card
Platinum Elite status
Additional Benefits for IHG® Rewards Traveler Credit Card
Gold Elite Status
!!!
That was the site I looked before I wrote my comment that you replied to.
But another Chase site:
https://creditcards.chase.com/travel-credit-cards/ihg-rewards-club/traveler
only lists:
Gold Elite Status
Earn IHG® Rewards Gold Elite Status after you spend $20,000 on purchases and make one additional purchase each calendar year.
without mentioning Silver Elite Status.
And yet another Chase site:
https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/ihg/traveler/earn-rewards
says:
Silver Elite Status
without mentioning the Gold Elite Status after $20k spend.
So the Chase comparison site is misleading, and other Chase sites don't give complete information.
How confusing!!!
does this work with rewards?
I tried submitting a match, 3 days later, Platinum still isn't showing. How long did it take other people's to show up?
Only IHG lux properties work for me. Marriott and Hilton have much better properties in the between 100 and 200 range, IMO.
