The Fine Print
- The offer will end at 11:59pm CST on the 31st December 2021.
- Only 1 status match per person will be permitted under this campaign. No changes can be made after approval is given. It is the members responsibility to select the highest tier available to match from when applying.
- The status match upgrade is valid until 31 December 2022 following approval.

- The below tables provide the tier mapping for matches from eligible airlines and eligible hotels:
Our Verdict
You can view what status you’ll get based on the status you have here. Most people won’t find Frontier status worth $49, but if you do this looks like a pretty easy match to complete.

This has just gone live again today for status thru Dec 31 2024:
-The Frontier Status Match application fee is $99 to verify and validate applications at 20k and 50k.
-There is a $149 application fee to verify and validate applications for 100k status.
-An additional $50 fee will be applied if your Frontier account has received a status match since November 1, 2020.
Different this time from 2021 status match:
-Price increase
-Only airline status is eligible for an Elite 100k status match.
I used my SW companion pass that was expiring to get the 100K Elite status with Frontier. It comes with free Discount Den, but it looks like you still have to go through the process to "purchase" Discount Den (it shows it as costing $0 for me).
A couple questions for the Frontier experts:
1) I read the terms and conditions and it says that Discount Den will auto-renew when my 12-month subscription is up. Can you cancel Discount Den immediately and keep the subscription through the end of the first year, or do I need to set a reminder to cancel a few days before the renewal?
2) Since Discount Den lasts for 12 months after sign-up, I assume it would be best to wait until I actually have a Frontier flight I would like to book and sign up then? I assume by doing so, my Discount Den benefits will extend past the end of the calendar year when my elite status will expire. For example, if I don't book a flight until April 1st, I could sign-up then, and keep Discount Den benefits through March 31 of 2023, even though my Elite 100K status will end on December 31st, 2022. Does that sound correct?
Not sure on #1 but yes, on #2 you are right. Which actually makes #1 a moot point...sign up for it when you plan to book a paid flight and it will be valid for 12mo from then. You can let us know what it says when you go in to cancel it to prevent auto-renew...I doubt it will be taken away because Discount Den is a non-refundable purchase. I think they will just warn you a bunch of times that if you don't auto-renew before expiration, there is a $40 enrollment fee on top of the annual cost.
any folks got 100k status via SWA CP so far?
Yes. It is listed on their website.
@guest_1303829 did u do or get matched with CP? thought to conf, as not sure if they do in fact require the CP is earned from # of flights instead of CC spend
Did not require it to be earned from flights.
Will this count as Airline Incidentals for either the BofA Premium Rewards or the Chase Marriott Ritz Visa? How about Discount Den fees?
When i bought discount den few months ago, it did trigger incidental credit on my gold card
@guest_1303869 @guest_1303565 but this $49 is not processed by frontier; rather, by a 3rd party that likely won't trigger
Does it trigger travel credit on american express platinum or gold card if the airline is selected?
As of today, 100k status no longer available on hotel status matches. I snoozed and lost.
Basically useless now. Doubt anyone with status on another airline will be paying for a match to Frontier...
Exactly. This was for frontier to draw in new customers. No one who has flown any other airline (with or without status) is gonna be like “ya know what. I’m gonna PAY to get a status with the literal worst airline to fly”. HORRIBLE DECISION BY FRONTIER
RIP. Set a calendar reminder to do this right after Christmas. 100K elite was the only status worth it imo
Is it gonna change back to 100K then?
“Fully Matched” 3 days ago and nothing changed on Frontier.
Same...of course the flights I need to book all are on sale until midnight tonight. My status match says it takes up to 72 hours to update with Frontier...and it doesn't say "business hours". If they're really going down to the minute, I believe they have until 1pm EST today to grant my Elite 100k status. If not, I'll be submitting a chargeback.
Just got hit with a Foreign Transaction Fee-- looks like this charge comes from Singapore. I used a BofA customized cash card, but you might want to use a card with no FTF if you're thinking about doing this match.
OK, so about a day after paying my $49, my Frontier account shows me as a 100K. I tried to add "the Bundle" to an existing Frontier reservation and the website tells me it's free as a 100K. But then it wants to charge me. I called Frontier and the rep said my status only applies to NEW reservtions. Is that true? Is Frontier the only airline in the world (at least that I know of) that only gives you your elite benefits at the time of ticketing, instead of at the time of travel?
I just spoke to Frontier, expecting them to tell me no, but I was able to get the phone agent to add stretch seats to an existing reservation that I didn't have any seat assignment for without charging me. I initiated the conversation via Facebook messenger, who asked if I could receive a callback, then they transferred me to the Miles department who helped out.
I'm glad this worked because it was the only reason I matched, but like you I probably didn't read that part of the fine print first.
so, it can be manually overridden if a CSR didn't get the memo & is willing to do it
Worth a try!
Hey, it worked! Now how do I get my free carry-on? :)
That is unfortunately correct :/
Any workarounds? Their website is wonky and it seems like part of their programming wants to charge me a fee and part doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way -- but I haven't figured it out yet.
Change ANY detail (for free) in your reservation (e.g., your phone number) and you will magically be able to add your status benefits to your existing reservations too :)
Yes, there is a workaround - at the time of checkin, you can add "the works" and it won't charge you. I can confirm was able to do it after the status match for existing reservation and didn't have to pay anything extra - seats, carryon, and checked bag were all included.
Did you mean checkin at the airport or online? Can you repeat the steps to follow? Thanks!
If you read the FAQ on the Frontier Status Match page it outlines this…
I think the $49.00 could be worth it for the potential of a status match to another airline during 2022.
Which airlines match frontier that isn’t a challenge
"Potential" do you read?
@jjwin chill out homie. There’s potential the moon could crash into Mars. That don’t mean it’s happening.
@jjwin. Smoke a joint and relax you troll. “English please”
