Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fee to worry about
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule, so I’m unsure if there is an early account termination fee
Our Verdict
Great bonus especially as it says any ACH transfer will work. Previously this was only for $150 so this is a huge increase. Wouldn’t be terribly surprised if this was pulled early.

Any of my long lost relative willing to refer me?
I qualified for membership through my job. Unfroze my Equifax report and applied online but was not instantly approved; it said my application was under review and I'd be contacted within 2 business days. Got an email about half an hour later requesting a copy of my pay stub and I uploaded it through an online portal. Then about 30 minutes after that, got another email requesting a utility bill, which I also submitted.
I was approved around noon today. I have not received a hard pull on my Equifax. I'm 16/12 and 13/6 for accounts this year but no idea which were Chex or not. No credit card funding, only debit and external transfer, each $5,000 max. The external transfer kept erroring out, so I used a debit card to fund the minimum $250 for the checking bonus and the $5 membership fee. It appears you automatically start receiving eStatements if you log in to online or mobile banking. I plan to meet the requirements each month to get the 5% APY.
For anyone with kids, there's a very easy youth bonus right now. Open account with initial deposit of $5, get $50. https://www.lgeccu.org/youth-holiday.html?dmxmbr=hBopBUvK8bF5VMx0R0RLl9
I thawed my equifax. Instantly approved. No hard pull. I think because I did not accept any overdraft protection.
Then would it be necessary to thaw? I think soft pull is still okay when frozen.
You still have to thaw for a soft pull.
Online application is for US citizens only. Non-citizen must visit branch.
App went pending- Credit and Chex frozen and maybe that's why?
Going to try cashapp/venmo debits if approved later
Right before submitting, there was a notice saying to unfreeze Equifax, so I did. Also had Chex unfrozen and was approved.
Update denied. Citing chex. Also said they couldn’t pull my credit (bc it’s frozen). So its def a hard pull and Chex sensitive
"If you have a freeze on your credit file, you will need to temporarily unfreeze your credit file to apply for membership." https://www.lgeccu.org/connect/about-lge-community-credit-union/membership.html
Hard pull? @guest_1953626
Membership may be possible anywhere in Georgia by joining the Getting Ahead Association.
Can you share where do you see this information?
I cannot find any verbiage stating you must be a Georgia resident. Can anyone confirm?
you don't have to reside in GA from the application process. You enter zip code, then work zip code, then relative yes or no. Asks for Employer from a drop down list. Then you enter DOB and continue thru the app.
If you can qualify for membership from OOS then the terms allow you to do the promo.
"All new accounts are verified through ChexSystems and all new account applications are verified by Equifax Financial Services."
There is a long list of employers for qualification. Relatives of members are eligible. Otherwise no good OOS. ZIP filter.
wish there was a way to do OOS, great promotion
