Usually GameStop offers pretty bad value on trade in, but might be worth doing with these bonuses – especially the game deal.

This is blowing up a little bit in Nintendo Switch subreddits. Apparently they’ll pay you $225 for a Switch which you can then turn around and buy the new Switch revision (same sku but with better battery life; NOT the Switch lite) for $300. Not quite worth it to me but may be to some people.

so is the value add angle just that the upgrade cost is $75 essentially?
Well, $75 plus tax, for a better (and new) battery, plus a new set of joycons, as there’s so many problems with drift on used sets.
Are there any tips for liquidating the trade-in credit instead of buying new junk from GS?
uber gc are good, once in a while they have 20% off deals on them.
You can buy gift cards in store. I bought a Uber gc with exact amount of the credit. I tried Amazon first but got rejected.
