  • My local CVS was willing to accept CC when I did the load to my first Amazon account. However, today they told me that its cash only when I went to load on my 2nd Amazon account. Will try another CVS store later.

  • The cashiers in the nearest CVS to me in DC area told me they have no idea what Amazon Cash is.

    • that's typical... just tell them to scan the barcode just like any other item and the register will navigate them.
      or use self-check out.

  • CVS Boston area worked fine for CC checkout. Reload and the email with the $10 bonus code was immediate.

  • Was able to do this at CVS self check out. Was going to try gift card but a message immediately popped up they weren't accepted. Paid with freedom. Got the bonus almost immediately. Plan to use it for a disney movie to link to my dma account.

    • Nice! I've never even seen a CVS with self-checkout. Do regular gift cards like Amazon work at self-checkout or only Amazon Cash loads?

      • interesting. here all CVS have self check out.

i know for sure you can buy any store gift cards at self check-out, even variables. not sure about Visa/Amex/MC.

  • I also just used my Freedom to do this... the cashier said she thought it would not work... but sailed right thru.
got both emails, for the reload and bonus as well.

  • YMMV on this one. I went to a CVS in San Francisco, and not only had they never heard of Amazon Cash, nothing pulled up on their screens when they scanned my Amazon Cash barcode.

  • I just loaded $50 at CVS. I paid with my amex plat (min spend) without issue! Doesn't need to be cash only.

    • I did the same. Walked to register, told cashier I wanted to buy this thing on my phone and showed the barcode. She hesitantly scanned it and then was prompted for the amount to load. Next, the card reader displayed a lengthy reminder about not getting scammed via prepaid card purchases and required acknowledgement. I then used my Chase Freedom and got my receipt. Email from Amazon confirming load came a few seconds later. Promotion confirmation email came a minute after that. Cashier had never heard of the Amazon Cash thing before.

  • I recently realized (albeit late) that Amazon digital credits can be used towards purchasing PSN store Cards. These will come in handy in my case. Thanks for posting.

  • if CC works, this would probably activate Chase Freedom's 5% in drugstore this quarter?

      • Wouldn't that be the same result as buying Amazon gift card using CF and applying it to the account?

Except for the initial bonus I don't see any difference to the other method of purchasing gift cards.

        • Yes, it's the same. Some people prefer direct loads, and then there's the $10 digital credit bonus.

  • If this works with CCs and/or Android Pay, this deal would be a good opportunity to try and double dip with the recent American Express Offers $5 statement credit Android Pay deal.
