[Expired] Get $25 off $50 Airbnb Experiences with Mastercard (promo code: PRICELESS)

Update 5/24/19: Deal is still available. Thanks to Deals We Like

Update 4/13/19: Deal was supposed to expire on March 31st, 2019. Deal is still currently working.

The Offer

Citi sent out an email offer to some cardholders:

  • Get $25 off an Airbnb Experience of $50+ when you pay with your Mastercard and use promo code PRICELESS at checkout.

The Fine Print

  • Pay with your Citi® Double Cash Mastercard and use coupon code PRICELESS
  • When booked between March 3 and 31, 2019
  • $50 is before taxes and fees
  • Limited quantities. Available on a first come, first served basis.
  • An “Eligible Experiences Booking” is a booking on Airbnb of an Airbnb Experience for $50 or more, excluding taxes and other fees and paying with a valid Mastercard.

To receive the $25 discount (the “Discount”), the person making the booking must:

  • Have a valid Airbnb account;
  • Have a Mastercard branded card;
  • Make an Eligible Experiences Booking on Airbnb during the Offer Period;
  • Enter the applicable promo code at the time of the booking request (in the “Coupon code” field);
  • Pay for the entire balance of the booking using a Mastercard branded card as the sole payment method.

Our Verdict

The coupon code is presumably limited to working on Experiences, not on ordinary Airbnb stays. Still could be useful for someone who wants to try out one of those.

Terms sound like it’ll work with any Mastercard. I think it’ll work for anyone who uses the promo code and a Mastercard, regardless of whether you got the email.

  • Worked today for me. Prestige card attached by default but it used gift credit instead.

  • Just a heads up probably dead, didn’t work when I tried last week. Confirmed by deals we like that is dead as well.

  • Just gave it a go and it did not work on my barclays arrival plus card for an experience in South Africa. May be dead

  • Any mastercard meaning it could be even a mastercard where its not an world nor elite? Thanks.

  • This coupon worked for me with my British Mastercard, so any mastercard should work

  • Is it multi-use? Can I book the same experience 4 separate times and get the discount each time?

  • Used this promo on experiences in Morroco and Spain and had great luck with Airbnb experiences would highly recommend to anyone considering it.

      • Unlike individual Airbnb hosts, most hotel chains won't dare systematically spy on travelers for fear of lawsuits.

        • Why are you comparing individual hosts to overall chains? A better comparison would be saying that Airbnb doesn't systematically spy on travelers. This is one of the worst arguments I've ever seen. Hotels have been found with having spying devices in rooms before, that doesn't mean you never stay in a hotel again.

          • Because when travelers stay at Airbnb, they don't stay at a place called Airbnb per se but at one of the millions of individual rooms that merely use Airbnb as an ad platform. Facts have shown that many of those individuals have been systematically spying.

            No one implies hotel chains are privacy heaven free of spying devices, but you are essentially arguing that Airbnb has the same level of power and quality control over its millions of listings as hotel chains over their properties. Can an advertisement platform such as Airbnb/Craigslist be the same as a top-down and centralized organization in which major hotel chains are operated?

  • Worked for me with my Citi Prestige as well, so I guess they haven't run out of the "limited quantities" yet. In fact it accepted the coupon code while I still had payment set to my Chase Sapphire Reserve (Visa), but I didn't try to actually complete the booking with the CSR.
