Get $30 In Free MTA Credit When You Use a Chase Card With Apple Pay

  • Purchase any ticket, weekly pass or monthly pass on the MTA eTix app using Apple Pay and an eligible Chase card and receive a credit for your account up to $30. Valid on your first MTA eTix purchase from December 1st until January 1st, 2017.

The Fine Print

  • This offer is only valid for customers who purchase their Metro North or LIRR ticket in the MTA eTix app using an eligible Chase or J.P. Morgan Visa debit or credit card enrolled in Apple Pay.
  • Ticket must be purchased between 12:01 AM on 12/1/2016 and 11:59 PM on 1/1/2017. Any ticket type is eligible, including one way, round trip, CityTicket, weekly, ten trip and monthly.
  • Customers who pay with an eligible Chase or J.P. Morgan Visa debit or credit card using Apple Pay will receive a single statement credit of up to $30 for the value of their first eTix purchase during the promotional period.
  • Tickets refunded within 5 minutes of the ticket purchase are ineligible for the statement credit.
  • Tickets refunded after 5 minutes and charged a $10 refund fee by the MTA are ineligible for the statement credit.
  • Please allow 4 to 6 weeks after the qualifying purchase posts to your account for the statement credit to post to your account.
  • Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds.
  • Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count and won’t earn Rewards points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.
  • To qualify for this offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This offer is non-transferable.

Our Verdict

Obviously won’t be useful unless you use MTA and also have Apple Pay (and a Chase card, but I imagine most readers fall under this category). Still it’s an easy $30 if you fall under those two categories so I think it’s worth posting.
