Our Verdict
Spirit miles cannot be transferred between accounts and cannot be exchanged for other airline or loyalty points using points.com. You need at least 10,000 miles to book the shortest one way flight, unless you have a spirit credit card in which case you only need 2,500 miles. Miles will expire after 3 months of no activity.
Because of these limiting factors this deal is really only worth it if you already have a spirit credit card, have existing miles or plan to fly spirit in the near future. It’s a neat way to generate interest in their frequent flyer program and airline without actually having to give away much (if anything). It’s also an incredibly smart way of cleaning up their web presence, when people search for negative keywords relating to spirit they will instead see this promotion and reference to it rather than true negative complaints.
I’ve flown Spirit before and didn’t find it a particularly bad experience, they are an ultra low cost carrier and as such you need to pay extra for everything (including a checked bag). I prefer to fly with other low cost carriers such as Southwest but the lack of a free snack isn’t make or break. You can view more free miles/points opportunities by clicking here.

My last flight was delayed out of DFW several times with poor communication from the gate agents.
Would like to know if I could get my expired miles back?
