The Offer
Check your Giant/SS/Martin digital coupons for an offer on Visa gift cards:
- Get $10 off $100 Visa Style, Fuel and Dining Category Cards
Presumably, the coupon will only work on these branded cards which are for select store categories, not on ordinary Visa gift cards.
The Fine Print
- Expires 6/30
Our Verdict
I can’t seem to find this coupon in my account, but everyone else is seeing it. I’m not up to date on which stores these category Visa cards do or don’t work for, feel free to share in the comments.
There’s also be a Mastercard gift card fuel points deal beginning on Friday (6/29) which can be consolidated into the same shopping trip as this Visa deal. Last chance now to use up your Freedom and Discover 5% categories before the end of June.

I hate the activation fee on these... so it's really only $5.05 off. Plus 5% back on Freedom makes it $10.25. I don't spend enough on "style" so a $100 spend on restaurant robs me of 3% cashback on my everyday CC, so there's $3 more eating into my savings.(Fuel gets 4% so makes much less sense to do that).
Meh, not sure it's worth the hassle for $7.05. $15+ I'd probably jump the hoops.
DP: I saw this offer in my SS app, loaded the offer and bought one $100 VGC in SS yesterday. But this coupon didn't automatically applied for some reason when I was checking out. I showed cashier this coupon in my app and she manually applied it so I finally got this $10 off.
I originally thought this might work for VGC but it seems that it actually only works on branded GC.
You have to buy $10 or more in groceries in the same transaction as the gift card, as tuphat explained above.
That is a lot of headache!
Here's to hoping mine ring up at 10% off instead of just $10 off $100.
I mistakenly bought 600 USD "MOVIES EVERYWHERE" visa gift cards during a recent promo from Office Depot, but couldn't use them at Walmart or other grocery stores. Does anyone know how to use/liquidate these cards?
I guess you bought $600 in one transaction. If so, did you get a discount of $15 or $30 off?
For liquidation of small-denomination GCs without too much hassle, you can buy variable-load VGCs using up to 5 cards. This card has a activation fee of $4.95.
Treat the family to a movie? I hear they work at the concession stands. Always have that back-up plan.....
Unlike Safeway, you have to buy $10 in groceries (in addition to GC) to get the $10 discount: "Offer redeemed when you present your Card at checkout and will be applied to your grocery order before taxes and after all other coupons and savings are applied. Grocery order calculation excludes gift cards, alcohol, tobacco and any other purchase prohibited by law."

It's another one of these scraping sites. Thanks for pointing out, we'll see if there's anything to do.
They credited DoC in the post.
I mentioned about this deal yday in the Giant 2X post. I think Giant may have screwed this up or we are interpreting wrong. The coupon says Style, Dining and Fuel (emphasis on 'and'). I tried 2 times and it didn't take $10 off..but the cashier gave $10 back. So may be they meant to buy all 3 perhaps?.
The fuel card seems very attractive, but considering the 4.95 fee, the gas equals to a 10 percent off combined with a discover/freedom 5% deal. I just got 2 speedway gift card for 10~12% off last week, so I'm really on the line for this one. Guys, at what rate do you buy gas? I'm hoping for chances to stock up gas cards at 20% discount. (Lemme know if I'm too greedy on this! I'm just a newbie :))
I've been fortunate enough to buy gas at a zero (some say negative) cost for the past year thanks to Fuel Rewards but that play seems to be over for most
Can you tell me how you did that? Still curious about the process.
Depends on which fuel rewards programs you have access to, and what the local limits are for discounts per gallon.... "Free" gas more likely if you're in an area where the grocer/gas retailer has unlimited cents off per gallon. (Martin's fuel centers in my experience still have no limits per gallon, up to price of the gas, though limited to 25 gallons per transaction. Kroger fuel centers, in some areas, like Richmond, VA, have had no limits either, up to 35 gallons per transaction... but that could change, & ymmv as they say. Most Kroger fuel centers limit discounts to $1.00/gal.)
As for "negative" cost, presume Justin is referencing the transaction "cost" for purchases at the grocer... If you're using a card that gets 5-6% off, (and if you're buying visa gift cards as part of your spending) then one can do quite well. (and more)
Style works at Walmart, rest doesn't.
Ymmv, I have had different results.
