Discounted Gift Cards on eBay: Target, Kmart & More

The Offer

There are a number of gift cards now available at a discount on eBay:

The Fine Print

  • Limited quantity available

Our Verdict

Aside from the discount you’ll get currently under these offers, you can stack the deal as well:

According to our bonus Bucks schedule, we should hopefully get a bonus bucks offer sometime between the 23rd and 26th or September. I would not recommend waiting on the Target gift card deal since that one only has around 2700 remaining (with around 2300 sold in just a couple of hours). The Kmart deal may be worth waiting out and hoping it lasts until then, but there is, of course, a risk in doing so.

Reselling

Target gift cards can be resold for 86% of their value and this deal here won’t really be worthwhile for reselling purposes. Of course, many of us will have no problem shopping at Target and using up the gift cards ourselves, netting the discount from the offer.

The Kmart cards can be resold electronically for 84% of its value to Saveya which means that you’ll lose 1% on the sale, but you’ll gain from the portal, Bucks, and credit card points.

  • Pay $127.50 for the $150 in gift cards (-$127.50)
  • Sell for $126 (+126)
  • Get 5% from the portal (+6.38)
  • Get 2% back in eBay Bucks (+$2.55)
  • Get 5% back from INK (+6.38)
  • Net profit: $13.81

Not a huge moneymaker, but if you’re comfortable with Saveya it’s really an easy offer since it’s all electronic and will just take a few minutes.

Bear in mind that Paypal Digital Gifts has a limit (for many) of $1,000 in e-gift cards which can be purchased per rolling 30-days.

  • Target.com also sells eBay giftcards. Anyone know if they allow you to pay with target giftcards to buy other giftcards at target.com

  • Just another heads up on topcashback policy. My most recent claim was declined this time due to no date being on their website for their offer. They said I couldn't prove that the cashback % was valid when I bought my gift cards last week.

    • I guess this is truly YMMV - just yesterday, I submitted a claim for a purchase I made on 9/17 (which coincidentally just tracked yesterday), and it was approved today. In fact, I made an error and said I should have gotten $5 vs. $2, so I was expecting $3, but they were nice enough to realize that I made a mistake and uplifted the amount to $10 (5% of $200) - they even gave me an extra 10 cents, not sure why.

      • Apparently TCB has a "101%" guarantee, which is where the extra $0.10 came from. I've also received 101%, though I haven't found anywhere on their site where this actually specified.

        • That's awesome! Under-promise/over-deliver! TCB is all right in my good! Thanks for the clarification!

  • How about using the target gift cards in conjunction with say RedCard, to save an additionial 5%, and purchase ebay gift cards? That would be

6% off due to sale on ebay
    2% ebay bucks
    5% portal cashback
1% back, if not more, using CC
    5% off at target

for a net 19% off $200 worth off ebay gift cards

    Right? :)

    • That is correct. I have been using a combination of discounted Target GC + Redbird to get about 10% or so in Ebay GCs not counting the portal cashback. Once I get the Ebay code, I rinse and repeat.
