Giftcardmart is Back Up and Running

A few readers reached out to let us know that the Giftcardmart site was showing an error message and wasn’t working for the past few days. Today it’s back up.

One of the smaller second-hand gift card exchanges is Giftcardmart. Some of you have heard about them since they code at 5x with INK and some of you might also be sellers to the site.

We spoke to Jake from Giftcardmart yesterday who explained that the issue revolved around Paypal limiting their account; all purchases from Giftcardmart run through Paypal. Since they couldn’t sell, they temporarily halted buying as well (although that part doesn’t involve Paypal).

They just reached out to us and let us know that the Paypal issue was resolved and everything is back up and running now from both buying and selling ends.

  • Place sucks. I've tried to do the stupid first time customer verification 3 times and they do not answer the phone.

      • I think they run you a public-records verification process with questions like "did you live at 1234 address" and things like that.

  • Another vote of confidence for this exchange. They really are top notch and very customer oriented.

  • This is the best gift card site I have ever dealt with. Zero issues since I became a customer about 6 months gao.

    • Their rates aren't public - Their pitch during the seller interview go over how they want to be the one stop shop for buying the card brands that accept and pay it forward with substantially higher rates on several brands like Amazon (has been as high as 95 I think).

The only drawbacks are that they are smaller so there have been a few hiccups like the one in the article, but they have always sent out messages to let everyone know what's going on and there is always someone to help me out if I have an issue.

P.S. Their selling page says that all new selling applicants have to wait until 1/18/17. I think that's because they have a cap on their total number of sellers.

  • Worth noting that this was 100% a PayPal blunder, which shouldn't come as a surprise to any of us.
