Google Pay: Earn $30 On Walmart+ Subscription (Stack For Profit)

Update 2/4/21: Google Pay is back and available again. Swagbucks still has Walmart+ at $75 currently too.

date 1/17/21: $30 Google Pay deal is back, according to reader Davis. You can also get $50 from Swagbucks and 10% from Dosh and maybe $5-$10 from Chase Offer/Bank Amerideal.

Update 12/25/20: This deal is no longer showing, seems to have died early.

Update 12/21/20 from Chuck: If you signed up for the Walmart+ free trial a week or two ago, you can still activate the Google Pay $30 deal now and get the $30 since the charge will only post to your account in the coming days. (Just be sure to have the card slated for charge in Google Pay.) This is probably obvious to everyone, but it somehow slipped my mind until just a moment ago, so here’s a reminder. Luckily, I caught this in time as my charge won’t hit for another 2 days.

Update 12/20/20: Seems like a new end date of 02/03. Hat tip to Mawn

Update: Readers note that this offer is valid until January 15, but only for 48 hours once activated. Wait to activate until you are reader to use it.

The Offer

  • Google Pay is offering $30 when you sign up for a Walmart+ annual subscription.

The Fine Print

  • Valid until 12/20/20

Our Verdict

At first I thought this would be a nice stacking opportunity, but as Chuck points out in our Google Pay post Google Pay rewards runs on the Rakuten network and so does Swagbucks. That being said in the past that doesn’t matter and it has been possible to stack with RCLON (Rakuten Card Linked Offer Network) so it should be possible to do the following:

No guarantee that will work this time though.

  • There is an Acorns Found Money offer for both the subscription trial ($5) and the actual payment ($8). I got Walmart+ last week, hence can't check if it stacks. Can just do the trial offer either way.

  • This post can serve as the start of a list credit cards that do not work with Google Pay rewards. Others have infrequently mentioned issues and my theory is that Google Pay does not properly read transactions with certain card issuers. In the Walmart+ / Swagubucks thread, I mentioned that I used a Bank of America credit card and did not get the Walmart+ reward. One other user confirmed the same problem with BofA. I previously used a Barclays card with an online Target purchase and got that Google Pay reward so it is not user error!

    • After weeks of "escalation to specialists", Google Pay lied to avoid paying out. They claimed that my card was added after I used the offer but I have the email confirmations to show that is not true.

  • I signed up for the free trial and cancelled right away.
Added the offer on google pay.
Activated the offer on swagbucks on safari > went to dosh app, activated the Cashback and chose to open in safari.
Signed up for the annual subscription.
Google pay tracked it immediately, swagbucks has W+ on the 'visited' (if not tracked in 2 days, I will open a ticket) & Dosh hasn't tracked it yet.

  • Did a paid subscription (cc already charged) but Google pay didn't track and contacted them via email. Sent them the cc statement yet they still ask me to read the terms and wait until the free trial period is over, such terrible CS!

  • FYI, purchasing the Walmart+ membership tracked as Grocery (6%) on AMEX Cash Preferred. I assume it will also track that way with purchases involving grocery delivery with the service.

  • Swagbucks never gave me the money even after 30 days, and contacting their customer service didn't work either. A lot of other people had issues with SB walmart tracking. I ended up asking Walmart nicely for a refund of my yearly fees. I hate SB

  • I'm still waiting for my Swagbuck points for signup back in Dec. It shows tracked but nothing so far. I wouldn't bank on getting the Swagbucks for this offer. From recent comments on other threads, it seems like a nightmare dealing with Swagbuck support on this offer. They keep asking for an order # which you don't get when you purchase a Walmart+ membership.

  • I have problem with Google deal posting, my Burger King offer 20% didn't get credited. (Using linked credit card only )
