Our Verdict

Previous best offer was 125k points + $100. I’d say that this new offer is better for the vast majority of people. I always find using single night free certificates to be a bit of a pain, but given that this is mostly unrestricted it’s not too bad and can be useful for a weekend away. The bonus has increased on the Surpass card to the same offer as well. As always if you have any questions, read this post about American Express cards first. I will be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Also in general American Express doesn’t match sign up bonuses, but you can sometimes get courtesy points. I very much doubt they will offer a courtesy free night certificate if you recently applied, but asking never hurts.

      • I didn't receive the free night either. Just met the $15K spending, and the free night for $15K posted right away. There is definitely something wrong going on with the sign up free night bonus

        • Same herr. Applied for two hiltons for that promo. Both spend were met within a few days. Got the 15k spend certificate. But haven’t received the signup bonus cert.

          • Exact same situation here as you two. Spent the $15k and got that free night cert immediately. But was expecting to have 2 free nights at this point.

    • Nope, met spending requirement around mid-August. Received 130k points on 8/20, but nothing about the free weekend night. They do state that it can take up to 8-12 weeks to send out the cert, but I'm sending them a SM to look into it.

      • I was told once u meet the spending of 5k in 4 months, you will get the bonus and free night, which can take 8 to 12 weeks. Nervous times......

Let us know if anyone gets it finally, and how long it took

    • I met the spending requirement and got an email stating that I earned 130k points but no mention of the free night cert.

  • I got this card and see the tracker for my $15,000 toward the free night reward. I don't know how the free night after meeting the $5,000 MSR appears? I am just concerned I am not actually getting that. Anyone else see anything different?

      • oh I did find that one but I guess there is not a more recent post? There's nothing from 2019 or references to Hilton Honors.

        • My bad, looks like it is a few links down the page. Titled: "American Express Hilton Increased Referral Offers – Share Your Links Here".

          • I'm sure someone will be very happy to find that you have used their link. Good luck with your approval.

  • What is the expiration guidelines of these 10 lounge passes? Can I give these packs to people not traveling with me?

    • Can't give away, can't combine with any other pass. You must check into the lounge with your Surpass PP (consumes 1/10 passes), and then each guest with you also consumes an additional 1/10 passes.

  • This baffles me. P2 got the popup. Has had 3 Amex cards ever: Biz Gold, Personal Gold and Blue Biz. Personal closed after 1 year, Biz gold still open and Blue Biz has spent about 25K on in the past year. Meanwhile, I've churned through many cards with similar spending and don't get the pop-up.

  • "George, based on your history with American Express welcome offers, introductory APR offers, or the number of cards you have opened and closed, you are not eligible to receive this welcome offer."

    LAME

    • Almost did the same thing, especially when you see the countdown ticker on the offer email! FYI, tried doing a referral from p2 Bonvoy Bus card (for 20k points) and it would not show me this card as an option. Had to generate from Gold personal card for only 10k. DP...after this approval I'm now at 5 amex CC's (3 business, 2 personal), plus 1 charge card.

  • Pop-up bonus denial. Haven’t been good about spend on 2 out of my 4 Amex cards though.

  • @will

I'm showing the same offer w/ref but only $4k spend 4 mos and Personal Gold with Refer 50K MR with $2k MSR 3 mos

EDITTED NM its for the Personal card not Biz that is showing $4k
