The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Hilton Grand Vacations (Hilton’s timeshare brand) is offering three nights in Orlando or Las Vegas and 50,000 Hilton points for $199. You can also get two nights in New York City + 50,000 points for $299.  As part of this deal you need to complete a two hour timeshare presentation and pitch

Our Verdict

We’ve seen similar deals for four nights + 20k points or three nights + 25k points. It’s never a good idea to accept the offer listed as you can almost always get more from it. Call the number listed and you should be able to get something better (if you call and say you’re interested but say your partner isn’t sure it’s worth doing). It’s not worth doing these presentations if you’re easily convinced, remember that almost nobody goes into a timeshare presentation thinking they want to buy a timeshare.

  • I bought one of these on our last vacation a a Hilton property and haven't used it yet. They keep emailing me trying to get me to book now, currently offering an additional 50k points or $150 theme park credit. Is this common? I don't know if the date range of the offer is doable but I'm considering calling and asking them to give me the 50k offer if I book now for a date a month after the window.

    Should I be greedy and ask for more? I'm not entirely sure why they are offering me more than I agreed to in the first place considering they already have my money and my understanding is that it is now non-refundable.

  • Just got off the phone with them. They offered a $50 "delayed booking" discount on the 3/2 NYC package, which made it $249 + tax. They wouldn't go above 40,000 points, though, so I passed on offer. Not sure how the other poster got 70K points (though at $299) -- I'm jealous!

  • Anyone ever go through one of these presentations? Is it the standard double the time they tell you it will be? High pressure sales/guilt? "Why would you come to a sales presentation if you weren't going to buy?"

    • Went to a Sheratan fall 2018. Main person we had was ok, the other two people, customer service people, and someone else I forget title where more high pressure. They could not understand why we would say no to their other offers of a bouncback offers (which was like $2K for 5 nights at a hotel, not a deal). We did our homework and the three people was exactly like others had said so it was nice to know what was coming. As to value, totally worth it. Paid like ~250 for 4 nights in a 1 bedroom condo with full kitchen + got a $100 GC .

  • What about people travelling with children? would a toddler even be allowed in the presentation?

    • thanks for the question and replies. Good to know we always went solo, this is first time with kids

      • I've taken both a baby and toddler on these presentations, both were allowed and make for a great excuse to leave when they start acting up haha

    • I was able to get $199 for 4 nights/5 days + 25k hilton + $100 theme park credit + resort fee waived + swapable to other location, but there's an additional $199 for christmas season so I let it pass.

  • This is what I just got offered (and bought):
    3/2 NY
    Local swap option (can change to another location and get difference refunded or pay extra Orlando/LV/Hawaii)
    Waived weekend fee ($100 extra apparently if you check-in on Fri/Sat Idk if this is just a sales pitch)
    upgrade to suite (Idk if this is just a sales pitch)
    waived resort fee (Idk if this is just a sales pitch)
    70k points
    15 months to book

    $343

  • They actually have a few different offers on the table.

    * 4d/3n in New York + 100 000 points for $749 + tax
    * 6d/5n in Honolulu or Waikoloa + 100 000 points for $999 + tax

    After 2 calls and 1,5 hrs total on the phone, further options discovered:

    * 4d/3n in Myrtle Beach, SC + 25 000 points for $199 + tax
    * 6d/5n in Waikoloa + 20 000 points + $200 Spend a Night On Us certificate + $250 Grand Experience certificate + 6d car rental for $915 (tax in)
    * 6d/5n in Waikiki + 20 000 points + $200 Spend a Night On Us certificate + $250 Grand Experience certificate for $803 (tax in)

    I was also able to purchase the Myrtle Beach package for $199 + tax with option to upgrade to any Hawaii package above within 21 months, price difference payable at time of dates booking.

    @will, worth adding this info to the post?

    • I was offered a $199 3day/4night (within 12 months) in Orlando with an UP TO $200 rebate (based on pricing) on my next booking (within 6 months after $199 booking stay) and 10k hilton points.....she wouldn't let me get off the phone...I told her the only way I would do it is if the $200 rebate never expired. #dealbreaker. lol
