  • Hilton Grand Vacations (Hilton’s timeshare brand) is offering discount rates and points.  As part of this deal you need to complete a two hour timeshare presentation and pitch. Deals are as follows (all included 100,000 Hilton points):
    • 3 nights in New York City for $749
    • 5 Nights in Honolulu for $999
    • 5 nights in Waikoloa for $999
  • You should also be able to get the following offers:
    • 3n in Myrtle Beach, SC + 25 000 points for $199 + tax
    • 5n in Waikoloa + 20 000 points + $200 Spend a Night On Us certificate + $250 Grand Experience certificate + 6d car rental for $915 (tax in)
    • 5n in Waikiki + 20 000 points + $200 Spend a Night On Us certificate + $250 Grand Experience certificate for $803 (tax in)

Our Verdict

Much more expensive than previous deals, but longer stays and more points.  It’s never a good idea to accept the offer listed as you can almost always get more from it. Call the number listed and you should be able to get something better (if you call and say you’re interested but say your partner isn’t sure it’s worth doing).

It’s not worth doing these presentations if you’re easily convinced, remember that almost nobody goes into a timeshare presentation thinking they want to buy a timeshare.

  • just called and they wouldn't give me any freebies, even though I have diamond status. Said it's based on inventory and offers run out. Said she has never given away park tickets or night certificates

  • Anyone who wants to own a timeshare - and I own several - please NEVER buy directly from the developer! There are hundreds of owners of every kind of timeshare - including Hilton, Marriott/Bonvoy, etc. - who are giving them away or selling them for rates that are a tiny fraction of the developers' prices. Look at eBay, or the very best timeshare website, Timeshare Users Group (www.tug2.net, especially the Forums discussion boards). It's a great way to vacation if it suits your lifestyle but it does NOT hold value, the minute you spend tens of thousands of dollars you have something worth maybe $1000 on the secondary market. So educate yourself and buy on the secondary market, after taking advantage of these introductory offers if you want. I always walk into the timeshare pitch with print-outs of the resale prices currently available for the exact same thing they are trying to sell me for much more, that way they know I am an educated consumer who will not buy from them and they give up in a shorter time.

    • Now that's an even better Objection that I'm not sure how they would overcome it, but excellent advice.

  • Not worth your time for any "deal". Just do some other DoC deals and pay for your vacation. Presentation is a headache of monumental proportions.

    Don't do it!!! :)

  • Is this geared towards couples only? I know many years ago my ex and I attended one for a campground and they were focused on couples only.

    • They probably prefer couples, because one or the other can join.

"If married or living together, couples must attend sales presentation together; individuals may purchase separately."

They are probably going to be more critical of your income and employment status if going alone though. Just be honest and you should be good to go.

    • You may not participate in this promotion if you have an open, incomplete package requiring attendance at a sales presentation, or have participated in a sponsor promotion requiring attendance at a sales presentation: (i) within the last year at the property or properties promoted in this offer, or (ii) within the last six (6) months at any other properties.

  • im actually heading to the big island soon. i called and asked...

they said the waikoloa offer is sold out through september 2020. something in her tone told me she was maybe being dishonest. has anyone else called and inquired about waikoloa?

    • not true. i asked about july and august of 2020 and these dates haven't even been loaded in their system. once loaded, there should be full availability.

  • I checked out the HONOLULU package and $149.45 in taxes were added. Also, the summary says 'Hilton area hotel or Hilton Grand Vacations Club." I'd assume the vacation club is nice but what 'Hilton area hotel' might they stick you in? Can anyone with who booked the Hawaii offer share where they were booked?

    • you can call and ask about the exact property you will get booked at. for waikoloa, it's Kings' Land by Hilton Grand Vacations.

  • Which hotel do they use in Waikoloa? If it is the main Hilton, sounds good to me. How do i get the "5n in Waikoloa + 20 000 points + $200 Spend a Night On Us certificate + $250 Grand Experience certificate + 6d car rental for $915 (tax in)"?

  • Since you are booking these via Hilton Grand Vacations (and not directly from Hilton), would you receive elite benefits at the hotels (like breakfast, etc)? I am guessing you would have to pay for parking, but what about resort fees? Also, any data points whether these code as Hilton purchases when using a Hilton branded Amex?

    • What Burton said is right for out-of-pocket expenses, points wise, is recognized by your CC... But they don't treat you as a hilton member at the hotel, in my experience. I got told at the front desk that because Grand Vacays booked it, I didn't get bennys. I didn't fight hard because all I am is Silver... which is supposed to get me faster Internet. My Firestick would have appreciated it.

    • I signed up for one of these at the hotel on our summer vacation last month and it did qualify for 12x points with my Hilton Biz card. It showed up as HILTON GRAND VACATIONS on my statement and the full amount, including tax, earned 12x (3x on all purchases, 9x bonus points).
