If you’ve flown before, it’s likely a flight attendant has tried to get you to sign up for a co-branded credit card with a cabin wide announcement and the passing out of an application. Usually they do their best to time this for when you’ve just fallen asleep.
Alaska Airlines
Alaska pays a flat $50 per approved application.
American Airlines
The standard break down is as follows:
- $50 per approved application.
- Bonus structure, based on approvals per month:
- 0-9 approvals: $0 bonus
- 10-24 approvals: $20 bonus per application
- 25+ approvals: $40 bonus per application
Occasionally American Airlines will increase the base rate that is paid to $75 per application, meaning flight attendants can get paid up to $115 per application. The one nice thing about American Airlines in flight apps is that it’s usually possible to get an extra 500 miles when applying as well.
Spirit
Spirit pays a flat $50 per approved application
United Airlines

PLEASE do a post on how much bloggers make for pushing credit card applications.
I am not kidding.
This would be a great public service.

On a flight with multiple FAs how is it decided who gets to put their referral number on the app? Or are the apps just distributed in a way that they're evenly distributed?
Any DP on how much does Amex pays Delta FAs?
Last summer UA increased the compensation to $100 from $50, have they since lowered it?
Only been on one flight where CCs were hawked. Didn't know it was a thing. Maybe sitting front of bus helps avoid this?
The recent trend of credit card applications in flight has surprised me. I feel like airlines lose a large amount of goodwill by pushing these and annoying passengers, but I guess it's working for them. Noise cancelling headphones help.
If they do that, I then spend the flight in their area pitching timeshares.
How much do Bank Tellers get paid for for pushing credit card applications? Is it about the same as flight attendants?
