There is a $20 fee to become a member that is waived for teens. They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees. According to their fee schedule there is no early account termination fee.

Our Verdict

Not a massive fan of in branch bonuses because they require a bit more effort to complete and usually you can’t fund with a credit card. There is also the $20 membership fee and you’d be losing out on interest on $2,000 for two months as well. That said, given it’s a $200 bonus it’s still a pretty good deal if it’s a soft pull.

  • Active again and not limited to ID as stated on here on DOC, this is from numerica page:
Am I eligible to join?If any of these apply to you, then yes!

    1. I live, work, or worship in Washington state.
    2. I live, work, or worship in North Idaho.
    3. I’m related to or live with someone who is eligible.

Appears they expanded into WA or you can get a ref I guess from someone in either of those 2 states that is a member already.

  • Went in today and setup an account. It's a $100 direct deposit OR withdrawal, as long as it's ACH, according to the woman who set up my account. The account type they push for is Sequel (as opposed to the Free Checking) which qualifies for 1.35% APY as long as you meet their requirements. I believe the account is free either way, you just miss out on the interest if you don't meet all 4 requirements. She also told me that it would not be treated as interest and that I would not receive a 1099...though YMMV. I plan on going back in to ensure that this is correct, though.
