Post Updates
- Update 09/25/18: If you open a Brewers account by November 1st you get the standard $175 checking bonus but you also get an additional $5 bonus for every game the Brewers win in September. They are currently on 14 wins in September (extra $70) with an extra four games to come. This makes the deal better than it normally is. Looks like the extra $5 is in Brewers Bucks, not cash. More details here Hat tip to reader Lo.
- Update 04/11/18: Deal has increased to $175 from $150. Hat tip to reader Jennifer.
Our Verdict
This seems like a pretty good bonus, especially because there is no direct deposit required. It’s a shame that you can only fund $1,200 with a credit card, but $175 is still a good bonus. This is worth completing if you live in the target area and it’s one of the better checking bonuses out there. The money market bonus is basically $100 for depositing $10,000 for 90 days, that works out to be about 4% APY. Good but not great, there are better high yield accounts out there that are ongoing (update: It’s actually 3.08% when you take into account the $1,000 that must be deposited to be kept fee free. Making it significantly worse).

See here for all the details: [removed] (it's my referral link)
To anyone who is willing to use my link above, I'd appreciate it... :)
We've already got that on the site
delete please
(I finally found the link you referred too)
$500!?! Hell yeah! I'm two weeks away from churning this bank again.
Not possible to get in from OOS anymore
I received an email update from Associated Bank today regarding the Brewers Opening Day tickets.
"Thank you for your patience and for continuing to hold onto your Opening Day tickets.
As a valued customer, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve worked closely with the Brewers™ to provide equal or greater value to you so you can enjoy a future game.
As a replacement, we’ll be sending two (2) ticket vouchers, good for a 2021 Brewers™ home game. You should receive your vouchers by October 31, 2020. Redemption instructions will be included with the mailing and on the vouchers."

The biggest advice I have is if you are going to try CC funding, make sure you have lowered your CA limit to less than the amount you plan to fund, and be ready to clear a fraud alert at the card-issuing bank.
After you get your bonus, downgrade the checking to Access checking, which has no minimum balance. The terms do not say you cannot downgrade, and I know from experience you can without issue. Just do an SM to request it.
Used the link yesterday to register -- opened the account today so you might get the bonus if it combines with the $500 checking promo
Thank you.
I was able to open a Wild account for the $175 bonus from Indiana. Terms say it expires 8/31/20.
I'm pretty sure a $300 push from Discover savings triggered the bonus (posted 8 days later). I scheduled 3 bill pays but only 2 of them had gone through when the bonus posted.

Thanks!
Opened account for $175 bonus using St. Louis, MO address (the nearest branch is 15 min drive in IL)
Initial funding using chase SW doesn't go through (with CA limit as $100)
Did it let you try another card?
The account was opened with 0 balance, I called and representative told me the transaction didn't go thru and she tried it again, failed. She also told me that I can fund the account within 30 days of account opening. I'll just transfer money in.
I was able to open this account from Northern Indiana.
Sadly, as many know, opening day will not be happening tomorrow. Associated reached out today to say they'll keep us apprised about our free opening day tickets and that they're working with the Brewers. Personally, I am impressed I didn't have to contact them and glad they're not just saying sorry, they're no longer any good.
Successfully churned this bonus after an early account closure in 2019. DP for 2019 (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/il-mn-va-wi-only-associated-bank-150-promotion-when-you-open-a-packers-checking-account-no-direct-deposit-required/#comment-900380)
2/21 - account opened and funded initial deposit with $1200 from Citi Double Cash
2/26 - $500 dd from Alliant
3/4 - $175 bonus posted
I'm going to close the account soon so that I can churn once more in 2020.
A heads-up: I have been doing Ally transfers since July for the checking account to avoid the fee. Just got charged a $9 fee in Feb (not $11 – not sure why it differs) for not meeting one of the options for fee avoidance, which I assume is because Ally no longer counts.
$9 is the monthly fee. I think the post is out of date. You can also do SnapDeposits instead of direct deposits. I'm leaving 1K in the account for the duration so I can avoid constant deposits and withdrawals :)
Per the website:
$9 (Waived for the first two statement cycles)
Avoid the monthly maintenance fee: Maintain a $1,000 minimum daily balance OR
Direct deposit or SnapDepositTM a total of $500 or more per statement cycle OR
Hold $2,500 in combined deposit accounts with same statement cycle date or the presence of either an HSA or investment account.
@guest_910161 @guest_925924 Better yet, downgrade to Access Checking and pay $0 monthly fee, and no required balance, DD, or debits. You can convert the account over SM after you get the bonus.
That is useful, thanks – for some reason, I thought that downgrading was not an option with this bonus; it is good to see verification that it is.
@guest_382611 That's a good idea, thanks.
Opened with $1200 Discover on 2/18
pushed $308 from Fidelity on 2/19
3 bill pays 2/25 (1) and 2/28 (2)
Bonus posted 3/2, not sure if the bill pays or Fidelity triggered it.
Last day to do the Brewers one to get opening day tickets bonus.
