The Fine Print

  • In order to be eligible for this limited-time offer, you must be 18 years or older and apply online or in-person using the code: Check250.
  • Limit of 1 per person.
  • Checking offer is not available to existing personal checking account holders. New customers may earn up to $250 on personal checking accounts LivTM Simply, LivTM Rewarded, and LivTM Unlimited if the following qualifications are completed within 90 days of opening account: direct deposits via ACH totaling $1500 will receive $150, 20 debit posted card transactions within 90 days (excluding ATM transactions) will receive $70, and E-Statements enrollment receives $30.
  • Incentive is considered interest, producing a 1099-INT form.

  • Just an FYI, Fidelity is doing extended holds. Called in to see (on mobile app) why its been 8 days and my funds haven't been released. Turns out, there's a 4 week hold. They said it's because Fidelity got hacked and they're throwing extended holds for security purposes.

  • I'm seeing conflicting info about opening an account with MSB in Oregon. Anyone know if this has been updated or if you still can't?

  • @guest_1231760 you are from the DMV area, were you able to open this account? It seems for Virginia residents we cant get past the Drivers License upload with this bank.

    • I've been able to upload my VA D/L in the past... but maybe something with their system changed recently? (I am more in the VA/NC area, than DMV...) I won't be eligible until 2026, so it will be a long time before I try again. @guest_1908987

          Its the only card I've ever tried to add. I downloaded cashapp just for this. haha The error says that its been declined by the external bank (midlands) and not by cashapp.

          • Ok. Then I am not sure. You activated it? Maybe there is a hold on your Midland States account? I would give them a call.

            Have a tiny purchase elsewhere, in person or online, you can do to test the card? Gas pump? etc...

            I sent midlands a message and got a response. Despite "activating" the debit card online, it did not work, and the card is not activated yet.

            I called in, activated it, and now it works.

  • Coming from VA - unable to verify identity and asked to come into a branch when I called. Too bad this seemed like an easy one

    • I am from VA as well, I called and was told to apply again in October, they are undergoing a system upgrade. I can't get past the Driver's License upload for Identity verification.

  • 7/28 - Account opened, Chex inquiry at 0/1, enabled e-statements. Had issues where my network pihole was giving me errors in the final stage of the application that looked like were coming from the bank. Got a welcome call from the bank a couple days later that prompted me to dig deeper & fix the issue.
    8/2 - $1500 DD from Fidelity
    8/6 - 2 bonuses posted, $30 and $150
    8/8 - Completed 20 debit transactions over a couple days

    Still waiting on the debit card bonus, made a few more transactions over the past couple weeks in case there were too many in 1 day.

      • I'm pretty sure that they auto close your account if you leave your balance at zero. Avoids a phone call closing in a few months.
