JetBlue Increasing Bag Fees And Introducing Peak & Off Peak Pricing

JetBlue is increasing bag fees and making the cost more difficult to understand with peak/off peak pricing as well as differences on when you book. You’ll need to navigate to the JetBlue site to see all of the fees, but for flights within US, Latin America, Caribbean and Canada are as follows:

Personally I don’t think you should need a spreadsheet to try and determine how much a bag should cost but I’m not surprised JetBlue is increasing fees as United & American Airlines have also increased fees.

  • Didn't we, the American people, just bail all of these assholes out? And then they made record profits for two years after they got millions from the goverment to stay alive? Why are they nickel and diming their customers so much? Beyond shameful.

    • Your tax dollars at work.
Next in line for bailout: Ford & GM in 5 yrs after Chinese automakers take over the world.

  • May I suggest optional Carousel Priority for just $5 per bag?

As a valued customer, you always come first. Now your bags can too!

  • How about weighing the bag for truly "dynamic" pricing? What's next, a bathroom usage fee?

  • Then they will whine for people to volunteer to check bags. And then say if they don’t get volunteer they will force people to.

  • Also just cut like half of their routes. Completely worthless at this point

    • If you don't understand how math works, stop posting. You pathetic whiny trumper.

    • Or, perhaps...

      JetBlue Airways Annual Gross Profit
      (Millions of US $)
      2023 $5,458
      2022 $4,804
      2021 $3,248

      • "Lies, damned lies, and statistics"
Yes, this is gross profit, which is much less meaningful than net profit. This is how much JetBlue actually lost for those years (in millions):
        2023 $-310
        2022 $-362
        2021 $-182

  • turning into a Spirit model that is so complicated that no one would keep track of it, then pissed customers, low ratings, and ultimately, losing more money.

  • Maybe someone should look into the perception of inflation as it relates to the near-omnipresence of bullshit fees and tipping everywhere. Next, they'll introduce "convenience fee" for purchasing bags online vs at the airport.

    • Just like the paperwork reduction notice that comes on its own sheet of paper.
