The Offer

Load the coupons here

Check your Kroger coupons for the following offers:

  • Save a digital coupon to get 4x fuel points on Visa and Mastercard $100, $50, or $25 fixed-value gift cards. (Does not work on variable-load Visa/MC gift cards.). Valid until 2/11
  • Save a digital coupon to get 4x fuel points on all dining & entertainment gift cards. Valid until 2/18

You should see these coupons for all Kroger-family brands. Typically, gift cards earn 2x, and occasionally they’ll put out offers like these to bump it up to 4x.

Our Verdict

Use a credit card which earns a bonus at grocery stores. There might also be a Chase or Bank of America deal for 10% back at Kroger to stack with this as well.

  • It looks like not all gift cards get 4x -- only Food and Entertainment. Anyone know if Disney cards are included in the "Food and Entertainment" Category?

  • I accumulate about 20k+ in fuel points to use over a 2 month period. Buy with a 5% card and my drivers pump in 35 gallon increments for a dollar a gallon off. And the cheapest fuel in our area happens to be a Ralphs branded station.

  • The value is in the fuel points and using a credit card that gives a high % cash back at grocery stores (BCP, BCE, Amex Gold, etc.). $100 costs me $102 with Amex gold ($5.95 activation fee less about 4% back). But 400 fuel points are worth $12 to me because I can do 30 gallons in one fill up (my daughter and I fill our cars up every other week at the same time). In my area Kroger doesn't limit how many fuel points you can use. In the end this works out to about 10% off for me.

    • That is the same as always. It's possible for some people to get good value from the fuel points.

      • With a $5.95 fee on a $100 card and a 20 gallon max (edit: its 35 gal) it sounds like the max upside is $14 gross or $8.05 net. I haven't been able to make Visa GC purchases with my Amex Gold or most other credit cards at my local Kroger.

Are other people able to buy the GCs and get CC points? That is the only way I could really see it being worthwile.

        • I use my Amex Blue Cash Preferred -which at 6% back on groceries eats up the Visa Gift Card Fee.

          • I agree as I do the same thing. Just keep in mind there's a good argument for opportunity cost. i.e. It's easier just to buy a $500 card and use your profit to buy nearly a full tank of gas.

But absolutely, if you can maximize the the fuel rewards the cash preferred is the card to use.

        • I can get 3% year round (yawn). Right now , I get 5% on my choice of Discover or Citi Rapid Rewards.

Now if it was like last time with a fee adjustment, then it would be a different story.

        • $100VGC x5= $500 x4fps= 2000fps= $2.00galx 30gs= $60- $29.75fees= $30.25 free gas by approximating $2.00gal + 30gals. I can usually fill up 2 cars and maybe a gas can and hit 33gals on a good. I typically break 30 gallons and rarely break 35gals. Add a good cc multiplier and its a good deal.
