KrowdFit Credit Card – 4% Back On Health, Wellness, Medical & Lifestyle Partners

After posting about the Ness Wellness card a reader pointed out the KrowdFit credit card. Let’s take a look in this quick review:

  • Free MyFitnessPal or Calm 1-year Premium Membership
  • No annual fee
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 4% cash back on spending with qualifying health, wellness, medical and lifestyle partners
    • 2% cash back on qualifying grocery purchases
    • 1% cash back on all other purchases
  • A Free 1-year KrowdFit Premium Membership

Our Verdict

It isn’t exactly clear what counts as qualifying health, wellness, medical and lifestyle partners. At first I thought it would be limited to partners they identify but after a reader e-mail with KrowdFit that isn’t the case and it’s based on merchant category codes (MCC). This could be potentially very useful for those with high medical costs but for most readers no sign up bonus on otherwise low earn rates makes this an unattractive card.

  • As a holder if this card, does anyone know about what will be done with the account now that it's "suspended"? It's still reporting to the credit bureaus and the app is still active.

    • I have no inside info but my guess is Deserve will keep these accounts open, at least for a while longer. It costs them virtually nothing, and they won't lose a pretty decent customer base for future operations.

However, your "right to make purchases" (that's what credit cards are usually for...) will hardly be restored, given that Krowdfit has ceased operations.

I'm not sure how to tag the site moderators (William Charles? Chuck?), but they might want to update this post with the latest information? Cheers.

  • I just noticed this page has never been updated, but Krowdfit ceased operations in November 2023, after an unsuccessful search for a buyer or a new investment partner.

As a result, Deserve (the fintech behind the card) notified cardholders on November 24 that their "right to make purchases" on the Krowdfit Mastercard account was suspended indefinitely.

The credit card technically remains open, and is still reporting to the bureaus. The 'KrowdfitCard' app is also still active.

  • sent a second email to Krowdfit basically impugning their judgement in partnering with Deserve and predicting their imminent demise because of said partnership.
Today Deserve didnt even bother to pick up their phones.
    Krowdfit did reply:
"Sorry you've had such difficulty. Out team has started a review of their support response so hopefully we will be able to effect some change."

  • I emailed KrowdFit through their website and asked what categories are covered and this is what they sent! Actually seems to cover a good number of categories—including Doctors, Dentists, etc… but doesn’t look like health insurance is listed, unfortunately.

  • Curious if a post for rewards on “wellness related” credit cards might be useful? With this, the Ness Wellness Card, and the Paceline card. Plus there are many other cards that have 3 or 5% back on Gym/Fitness Memberships and Sporting Goods Stores—such as US Bank Cash+, Walgreens’ credit card, and as a rotating category on Abound Credit Union’s card. FutureCard also gives 5% back on used sports equipment. Walgreens even has 3% rewards for “Spa and Salon appointments” and “Pet Store” as wellness related. Though their rewards are only redeemable at Walgreens, which leaves a lot to be desired.

There is a best card for Drugstores post, maybe could be part of an update to that post?

    What do others think?

    • This card is over a year old. Just because you only learned about it today doesn't mean that it's a new product.

    • It's survived longer than that even right now, but don't let me stop anyone from continuing to foretell already-proven-wrong declarations. Enjoy!

  • Eh. I spend enough on health and wellness these days, but needs a sign up bonus. 4% is nice but if by chance a provider doesn't qualify, how irritating. I'll take my 10+% sign up bonuses for my "health spending".

    • Not really advertising, just making readers aware of different products. We don't even recommend it at the end.

    • This product was suggested by a reader, and Willchuck will take all the content they can get.

The verdict is usually something like "this looks interesting but not that interesting".

  • Will health insurance premium payments count for 4% ?
If yes this card will be very useful for that group of people who pay premiums out of pocket.
