Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

Preferred checking has a $10 monthly fee, this is waived with a $2,000 balance.

Early Account Termination Fee

There is no EATF according to the fee schedule.

Our Verdict

Better option than a $350 toaster for most people. Always nice to see a bonus without a direct deposit requirement.

  • This bank has a $2.55 fee for ACH transfers out, so pull the funds from another bank to avoid that fee.

  • I opened and funded 2500 with venture x. I called cap 1 to lower my cash advance limit to as low as possible but apparently they don’t do that :)
Coded as cash advance (although there IS a warning on the website that it may and I took a chance anyway).

$100 Checking "3/25/24 FINANCIAL FITNESS INCENTIVE PAYOUT"
$200 Savings "3/25/24 FINANCIAL FITNESS INCENTIVE PAYOUT"

I originally signed up for the $200 checking offer but after seeing a comment below I then opened the savings account. Was able to do $2500 credit card funding for the savings account using my Bank of America card which coded as a purchase. Sent a secure message requesting to have the promotion updated to the $300 offer and they granted the request.

Recently, I tried opening the $300 business checking offer on their website by entering my email address but they've never followed up with me. Seems that they don't allow opening the account online like the personal checking/savings accounts. I'll probably just pass on it at this point unless they follow up and allow me to open over the phone.

    • Hi Lefty, What did you use for the direct deposit requirement? Did the bonus automatically post or did you call in to inquiry?

      • I used a real DD because it's easy for me to change my accounts each pay period. I had to send a secure message after day 45 because it didn't post by then and that was the stated timeframe.

  • Anyone actually get their bonus(es) yet? Seems like forever since I opened the accounts
