The Offer
- Ashland Credit Union is offering a $100 checking bonus when the following requirements are met:
- Open a new ACU Christmas or Vacation Club account and deposit $30
- Open and activate a new ACU checking account or activate an existing ACU checking account and be in good standing
- Receive a direct deposit of $500+ within 60 days of account opening
- Make 3 debit transactions within 45 days of account opening
The Fine Print
- To be eligible, all members must, a) Open a new ACU Christmas or Vacation Club account and deposit $30 b) open and activate a new ACU checking account or activate an existing ACU checking account and be in good standing. To receive $100 direct deposit reward, you must activate an ACU checking account in good standing and either 1) start a new payroll direct deposit into the account (total amounts received must be at least $500 within 60 days of enrollment), or 2) make at least 3 debit transactions from the activated ACU checking account within 45 days of opening new account or reactivating current ACU account.
- Limit one
reward per member. - May not be combined with any other checking or direct deposit offer. Offer not valid if previous direct deposit offers have been redeemed.
- Reward will be deposited within 60 days of meeting requirements.
- Accounts overdrawn or closed before reward is credited are disqualified.
- An application is required for all checking, Christmas, and vacation accounts.
- There is a $20 charge for all custom debit cards.
- All offers end 3/31/22.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
Ashland has offered a $200/$500 bonus in the past, but that was in branch only. This is a relatively small bonus so probably not worth it for most people but if you’ve done the bigger checking bonuses already this could be worth a look.

I applied and it was a HARD PULL on Experian
For the Savings account there is a $25.00 fee assessed for any withdrawals other than to close the account or to pay out the annual balance on the posting date (May 1st 2022).
This is the only bank I know of that pays interest annually instead of monthly.
