Update 12/7/20: Previously it was burger only, now seems to be any light life product (ground ‘beef’ as well?)

  • Lightlife is offering a free plant based burger via coupon

Our Verdict

Looks like you need to confirm your info by text or automated call and then they send you out a physical coupon within one or two weeks. I like some of the plant based burgers, no idea if this one is any good but I guess that’s why they are giving out freebies.

  • Got coupon and redeemed. Burgers are good. Not exactly health food. But then neither is Impossible or Beyond Meat. Pretty expensive for super processed food.

Buy Dr. Praeger's veggie burgers if you want healthy and cheaper, too. Though they're pretty mushy.

  • Lol received the coupon in the mail. It’s literally an online coupon you can print at home. Unfortunately most if not all retailers in my area don’t accept free online printed coupons, despite these being printed by the manufacturer themselves and sent to me via snail mail. They could have saved the time, paper, and money by just giving people a link....

    • Got this one and actually exchanged it for the "meat" which was actually pretty, pretty good. I got lucky at checkout during the afternoon with several managers hanging out, who initialed it and got it through after a few minutes of effort and deliberation.

If they scan it and it doesn't go through, tell them they need to enter the amount of the product.

Also, I took the entire letter in, and I think it may have security features visible on the back that might sway skeptical clerks. I didn't notice until I was in the store. Some kind of reflective thing or watermark

Front line woman didn't want to take it initially after getting slapped for the last print at home one she took. Hopefully the senior person will survive the $8 risk.

      • Oh wow, didn’t even notice that! The entire letter does have security features. Good thing I didn’t cut away the coupon portion haha. It’s definitely best to keep the entire document intact even though my name and address is on it.

  • These are excellent, and similar to or better than Impossible burgers, Very light and juicy and fresh tasting. And not cheap. Thanks for sharing

  • Natural Flavors and Modified Cellulose sounded like chemically processed fast food?

Ingredients: Water, Pea Protein, Canola Oil, Coconut Oil, Natural Flavors, Less Than 2% Modified Cellulose (from Plant Fiber), Sea Salt, Vinegar, Beet Powder (Color), Cane Sugar, Cherry Powder (to promote color retention).

Allergy advice: This product contains pea protein. If you are allergic to legumes like Peanuts or peas, please be cautious of the possibility of a reaction.

    • Thanks for the link. Informative. I like that they listed all the ingredients of all the 'competing' products. Essentially the same.

Frankly, I am not sure I would want to introduce this to my (family's) diet, but none the less informative ... I might try one at some point just our of curiosity, but frankly this coupon seems a bit too much trouble and because of this PR stunt they lost my trust before they even gained it ... Again my personal impression ...
