Looking at my ReferLive account it shows the following:
Reward Issue Date Reward Amount
09/29/2022 $300.00
But I never received the card in the mail. Called CS and they told me they would call me back. Hopefully it shows up/they send me a new one
Messaged CS, they sent me a new one
~9/15 signed up for referlive online code.
~9/15 signed up for new MetroCU account online. Got error message "unable to authenticate identify"
~9/20 went into one of the listed branches and in person. Teller had me fill out hard copy form even though I had already done it online.
~10/10 small Debit card online purchase
~10/6-11/6 3 small real direct deposits
~11/5 $300 debit card received in mail. Only good through January.
My summary: Took more time than it should have because my online application didn't work so had to go into branch. Luckily I live near one. Once it was open, requirements were easy to meet
@guest_1475138 @guest_1443466 @guest_1454251 @guest_1471778 Are you MA or NH resident? Or does it not matter if you are applying through ReferLive link? I am a RI resident.
Metro Credit Union membership is only opened to MA and part of NH
9/6 - Opened Rewards Checking, Rewards Saving, and Membership Saving accounts in branch

9/12 - Debit purchase at grocery store
9/13 - Payroll DD
9/29 - "Reward issued" shown in my ReferLive account
10/27 - $300 Visa gift card received in the mail
Note 1: Branch teller told me that the promotion expired when I opened the account, but obviously the ReferLive with the code still worked
Note 2: The Visa gift card will expire in 3 months. Better use it fast.
9/11 - Signed up via the ReferLive link
9/12 - Applied and approved using a former address in footprint. Realized I signed up with a different email address. Immediately signed up again with ReferLive for the right one after account was opened.
9/20 - Legit DD and debit card transaction
10/4 - Legit DD and debit card transaction
10/24 - $300 debit card received.
Opened 9/19
$1 DD 9/28
$1 Debit spend 9/29
$300 VGC arrived in the mail 10/24
Easy peasy bonus.
I received the $300 Visa Reward Card today! Envelope is from "Program Headquarters".
Opened account online at ReferLive with code METRO300 in mid September.
I am in footprint. Used real employer DD.
I am happy this actually paid out :-)
Keep in mind that, for the Rewards Checking account, there is a $22 monthly fee if you don't have Direct Deposit, $12 monthly Inactivity Fee after 3 months, and a $3 Paper Statement fee. That's nearly $50 per month in fees! I'm closing my account ASAP.
Based on others' DPs, I forged ahead with this one, thinking I could be successful.
Used online link and the METRO300 code, but was unsuccessful at account opening due to identify verification. Made an appointment at a branch 2 blocks from where I live, waited 30 mins anyway and finally someone came over.
Blocker 1:for CC funding, my biz card was declined due to the cash advance request. Hmm, ok, I provided another card hoping the finalized transactraction will code as a purchase.
Blocker 2: I asked about the 300 bonus. Branch mgr said that promo has expired, but also that it was in effect for only the new branches.
Closed the 3 accounts that they just opened for me (reward checking, reward savings, member) and took 1900 cash back to my bank to pay the advance.
Definitely got unlucky here. YMMV
I think generally, trying to use a credit card for funding your account while in branch will almost always be a cash advance versus doing it online. At least I heard someone told me that before.
How did you close?
Anyone else see two "Membership Account"s when opening?
Also, anyone have any DPs on closing?
I just opened the checkiing account - it was super confusing and at first I only had the membership savings $5 account without understanding why. I called and they opened the checking account over the phone so I'm good there and will be sending me a link for a form you need to fill out for $300 visa card. She was very insistent/clear that the DD had to be from a payroll or SS so I'm crossing my fingers that my DD from my Chase push will work. There are no DPs in the DoC List of Things Banks Consider a DD for Metro so we'll see.
