Update 1/16/19: Marriott has confirmed that Marriott Bonvoy will be the new name for the Marriott loyalty program, it will be retiring the Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest names on February 13th, 2019. No benefits will be changing in the immediate future but they are saying they are planning for more innovation in the future, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that’s code for we are going to make devaluations but we’re just not going to do them yet.
Marriott will also be renaming some elite tiers, Silver Gold & Platinum Elite will be remaining but Platinum Premier Elite will become Titanium Elite and Platinum Premier Elite with Ambassador will become Ambassador Elite. Given the massive issues the Marriott & SPG merger is still facing, I really question the use of resources here by Marriott. This type of thing is something you do when all of the issues have been rectified, meanwhile customers have had existing reservations cancelled and still haven’t been informed by Marriott.

Update 1/2/19: Loyalty Lobby has found the figurative logo for the new Marriott Bonvoy name. Logo is about as inspiring as the name. I’m guessing we will see this released sometime in March.
Original post: Earlier today a development site for Marriott was viewable by the public at https://loyalty-dev2.mi-devtest.marriott.com/loyalty/member-benefits.mi. Since then this has been pulled and is no longer viewable. It looks like the new Marriott rewards program will be called ‘Marriott Bonvoy’ (a trademark has also been filed for this name). Doesn’t look like anything else is changing apart from renaming some of the rewards tiers. The dev site wasn’t cached by google, but One Mile At A Time was able to take some pictures.

Very stupid name and awful concept in the commercial. Moronic.
This is a new low for Marriott
Wow, that is a horrible name.
Bonvoy, indeed! As in... Bon voyage, Marriott!
If Marriott wants to be taken seriously they better SIGNIFICANTLY approve their rewards program. Marriott is usually the most expensive hotel and the worst value
I believe their awards program has been approved now. Thank you for playing.
I can't believe they're actually going with Bonvoy. Did the Hyatt people bribe them to come up with something worse than the Explorist nonsense?
Anyhow, regarding: "Marriott has confirmed that Marriott Bonvoy will be the new name for the Marriott loyalty program, it will be retiring the Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest names on February 13th, 2019." Does that mean all the credit cards are getting renamed?
Do we know when they're going to make the point changes?
when did anyone confirm that they are making point changes and how would anyone know?
Wonder if Amex will rename/redesign the SPG Rewards card... Purple Bonvoy or something?
Do we know when they are changing the categories for their higher tier hotels? I still have 2 60k certs that I am trying to figure out what to do with.
I happen to like Marriott. I stay there as often as I can and I think their service is superb. I couldn't care less what they call their program. I used to be gold but under the new program I'm platinum which has more or less the same benefits.
I'm hoping that everyone does leave Marriott. It'll mean that the breakfast room and parking lot are less crowded, I have more chance of getting free upgrades and they might reduce their rates.
The entire Marriott Bonvoy family thanks you for your enduring loyalty. Please visit our Chinese portal for a short customer service survey, which you can access by resubmitting your passport and Chase Marriott Premier card numbers.
