Update 10/2/24: Rates are changing: after October 13, 2024 they’ll removed the 2x earn for UberEATS and the 6x for UberEATS to Marriott property deliveries. Almost all UberEATS will now earn 1x; this requires an order of $40+. (2x for UberEATS to Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, or Element brands.) We’ll still get 3x on Uber rides. (2x on pre-scheduled UberX Reserve rides.)
Update 8/6/23: See updated partnership points offers in this post
Update 2/19/23: 3,000 bonus points are available again.
Update 12/19/22: The media team reached out with the following update: This offer is only applicable to those Marriott Bonvoy members who download the Uber app for the first time and link to Marriott Bonvoy during this time frame. Only Marriott Bonvoy members who don’t currently have the Uber app qualify to earn the bonus points. Members who haven’t linked their accounts but already have the Uber app don’t qualify to earn this bonus.
Update 12/16/22: Bonus for linking increased to 3,000 (up from 1,000). Per OMMAT: This is open to all Marriott Bonvoy members, per the terms & conditions of the offer, though there’s no mention of it on the page where you link accounts. Some people are getting an email about this offer, and an official Marriott representative posted about this offer in a Marriott Facebook group. This offer is valid December 16-31, 2022. I was also able to find this stated in the google results:
Update 2/17/22: They are now offering a 1,000 bonus for linking Uber and Marriott and having at least one qualifying transaction by March 20, 2022. (The previous 2,000 points bonus from last year has long expired.)

Minimum $40 order for UberEats makes this partnership pretty useless for most people who only order 1 meal at a time, whether it's because they're single, or for another reason. $40 for a single meal is way too expensive for many people.
And on top of that, some people can only do pickup, perhaps because delivery is a problem because of the apartment they live in an upstairs apartment which is hard to find for delivery people. So making this partnership work for delivery only is a no-go for people like that.
I really hope UberEats goes down in flames. I'm all out of AMEX Plats (I guess for the next 6 years or so until they're off my credit) so I don't have to waste uber credits anymore. And it really is just not worth the fees + tips, on top of the increased menu prices 95% of the time.
It really isn't much of a burden to get in the car and take a 5 minute trip to pickup.
You can use Uber eats to do pickups, so basic what you're doing anyways, but getting a credit to apply towards it.
so I agree with you in the sense that I only ever do pickup to use up my plat credits because the markups/fees are ridiculous. But I think a lot of people forget what a godsend food/grocery delivery can be for people who are disabled or are otherwise unable to get to a restaurant or store on their own. It's a bit of an ableist take because not everyone can just pickup. That being said, one could argue that it's even more unethical that delivery companies take advantage of people who need their services by overcharging
I disagree with you on UberEats. They are the only app that consistently offers BOGOs on various restaurants that I make use of my Amex credits. You can get some really good deals on food and I only do pickup for any food app since delivery fees are just plain BS.
I find Grubhub the most useless out of the 3 major food apps Doordash, Uber Eats and Grubhub.
It probably depends on where you live. In my area Uber Eats rarely has any offers at restaurants that I like. When they do have an offer, it often excludes the location near me and only works for a far away location.
I agree. UberEats tends to run the most promos from what I've seen compared to DoorDash and GrubHub.
Getting bonvoyed hard by Uber!
uber eat and other food delivery often hikes up the food prices so they make money on the differences
Minimum spend to earn points for Eats orders was increased to $40, though you do also earn on grocery orders now. There’s an offer for 1K points for first every UberEats grocery order @chucksithe
I completely forgot I linked Marriott and Uber in 2021 and found out I have 17k points just from Uber rides and Uber Eats orders lol
Hmm, seems like I never got the points and it has been 6+ weeks since Feb 19. Never downloaded Uber or used Uber to be honest or linked accounts either before as well.
