MGM ‘Reimagines’ Loyalty Program, New Name & No Resort Fees

MGM is making changes to it’s loyalty program, including a name change from M Life Rewards to MGM Rewards. The changes go into effect on February 1 and a full list can be seen here. The major changes are as follows:

  • Waived resort fees for members with Gold status or above (must book direct)
  • Travel credit to Las Vegas for Platinum status and above
  • Complimentary tickets to MGM Rewards converts for Pearl status
  • 4PM late check for Platinum status and above
  • Reduced tier credit earning for non gambling spend (currently 25x, will be 4x)

It seems that the new program is significantly worse for people that actually earn tier credits, but if you’re matching status from Hyatt then the waived resort fees are huge. It might even be worth booking trips speculatively as room rates are extremely low without the resort fees currently.
