The Offer
No direct link to offer, sent out via e-mail (targeted?) <Subject: Free Amazon Prime®? Yes, Please!>
- Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is offering cardholders a free year of Amazon prime.
Our Verdict
This deal is either being sent out to all cardholders or at least widely targeted. We saw a similar deal last year. You have a full year here – no matter when your Prime renewal is you’ll be able to make use of this offer. I’d set up on Amazon now to have it renew on the NFCU card so I don’t risk forgetting later.
Consider signing up through our affiliate link if you are signing up for a new Prime membership; there are some shopping portal options to consider as well.

Seems like the Gift prime membership option is no longer available. If I purchased Amazon Prime and later canceled it and got a refund, will NFCU claw back the credit?
Didn't realize that Prime membership has sales tax in many states so I was charged $8 more than $139. Tried to ask Navy Federal to include that amount but was denied.
lol my sales tax is 11 dollars smh
Had this part of a targeted mailer for the Flagship card. 50K /$4k sign-up offer. Took it.
I have two NFCU credit cards and have not received this offer. Granted, it's been a while since I've used the cards.
Got the promo by email a couple weeks ago. Bought gift membership, got reimbursed in about a week.
Can the person receiving the gift membership convert it to amazon giftcard balance? I was able to do that a few years ago, haven't tried that recently.
Yes
Same for me, reimbursed in a week compared to several months the prior time this offer.
I'm a flagship cardholder since 2020 and never received this offer. I haven't received an email, nor I see it in the "offers" section in my online account. Will send a secure message and ask, but still I don't think this offer is "widely targeted".
Have you paid for Prime with the card tho?
No.. Is this how the "target" algorithm works? And again, if this is true, this offer is certainly not "sent out to *all* cardholders" or "widely targeted".
Was targeted in Sep 2020, nothing this time around.
I don't remember getting this offer last year and haven't received such an email this year. I have cash rewards and the more amex. This seems to only be for those who have flagship rewards.
I have the flagship card since 2020 and never received this offer.
Same here. Our non-annual fee cards don't appear to get the offer, P1 or P2.
@guest_1398091 what NFCU card do you recommend? I think their amex still has extended warranty and no fee. Planning to apply one of their offering @guest_1398091
I got a pre-approved credit card offer from Navy Federal CU recently. Checked the perks and decided to skip.
How did you find the pre-approval?
Nothing for me. I opened the card late last month. I sent a secure message asking for the promotion too.
"Thank you for using Navy Federal's eMessaging Service. We can confirm that your Visa Signature Flagship Rewards account will receive the annual Amazon Prime credit as long as the annual Amazon Prime membership post to your Visa Signature Flagship Rewards account by 31 December. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know."
So it looks like it's just not advertised on the card but you get it every year. I'll try it out
Got the official email about it today.
Davis, is the free Amazon Prime membership an annual benefit that pays every year as long as you keep the Flagship Rewards card, or is it once per card? The terms said "Limit of one promotional offer per card" and I also spoke to a rep today who said the same, so it seems that it cannot be used again every year.
