Our Verdict
Points are worth 1¢ towards travel (& I think statement credit) and there is a minimum redemption of 5,000 points. Read this post to learn everything you need to know about Navy Federal Credit Union Credit Cards. I think 15,000 points is the highest we’ve seen for this card. $200 is one of the better cash sign bonuses and 3x at restaurants is competitive. In saying that there are much better options for both gas purchases and purchases everywhere else.

This is a great card for foreign travelers who aren't huge churners. No foreign transaction fee, no AF, and 3% on restaurants is awesome.
if I wasn't trying really hard to fall under 5/24 I would pick this up in a heartbeat.
I have this card. 3x points for restaurants was good, but once I got the Chase Sapphire Reserve, that became my restaurant card. The most annoying feature of Go Rewards is the $50 minimum redemption. I don't think a statement credit is an option. I had to request that my $50 be posted to my Navy Federal savings account.
No, its $10.

When you open a GO REWARDS account,† you'll earn 3 points at restaurants, 2 points on gas and 1 point on everything else.1
Visa Signature Perks

Rewards Expiration: 4 years from
date earned

Start Redeeming: 1,000 points
Additionally, the cashRewards card has no minimum redemption so it would be bizarre for Navy Federal to have such a high requirement on their other cards.
Actually, I just found and read the full rewards program at https://www.navyfederal.org/pdf/creditcards/NFCU_821VS-CC.pdf and you are right
"GO REWARDS points may be redeemed for cash
back on at least a per point basis (e.g., 10,000 points for $100), credited to your savings account.
5,000 Points $50
10,000 Points $100
15,000 Points $150
20,000 Points $200
25,000 Points $250
30,000 Points $300
35,000 Points $350
40,000 Points $400
GO REWARDS points may also be redeemed
through Pay with Points for transactions that have already posted
to your account in the past 90 days. Pay with Points is valid for
up to three transactions totaling a minimum of $50.
Transaction redemptions are at a per point basis (e.g., $51.11 Sports Authority backpack for 5,111 points) and will be credited to your statement.
No partial redemptions can be made. Cash redemptions may be
requested by logging on to Navy Federal Online
Banking and using the available link for redemptions."
I also saw nothing in there less than 3,500 points ($35) for "selection of merchandise and gift cards" so where did the 1,000 points come from?
Very weird that their cards differ in rewards redemption ease so much.
Several years ago I had the NFCU nRewards Visa, and the minimum cash equivalent redemption was 10,000 points for a $100 gift card.
Updated post, thanks Sarah. I thought the minimum GC was $10 but obviously not.
wyndham lawsuit coming...
Pretty sure NFCU has been using the GO brand longer than wyndham
