Early Account Termination Fee
According to this fee schedule there is no early account termination fee.
Our Verdict
It’s unclear the gift cards offered and they might be ChexSystems sensitive. If you can get approved then it’s worth doing as there is some good credit card funding as well.

I finally got my reward. I opened my account June 14th. I finished meeting the bonus requirements on August 2nd.
I called after the 60 day mark to inquire about the bonus. The first time I called I was told that the promotion was only available to those who live in the Charlotte, NC area. I called again a few days later and was told that I should receive an email with instructions to create the rewards account. Fortunately, I received an email two business days later with info on how to get the $250 gift card.
@guest_1484974 Kudos to you! A valuable lesson in not listening to the first rep you speak to AT ANY bank. They make up crap to get you off the phone and try to justify what the system did or didn't do.
I have a friend that had a similar incident at Affinity... he told them to close the account. If you give up... they don't have to do anything more to help but will gladly listen to your directions to close the account. Yes, you can raise a stink later, but there are usually terms that closed accounts cannot get a bonus.

10/03 - $250 Rewards Certificate issued which can be redeemed for $250 gift cards.
Do you live in Charlotte, NC area? I met requirements of the bonus but was told I will not receive it since I do not live in Charlotte.
Sounds like a future NCUA complaint to me. Actually, HUCA ONLY IF you have exceeded the promo payout timeframe. Sometimes reps will not have a clue, and you would get the bonus anyway if you let things happen normally. GL!
I think you correct on the reps not knowing. The representative said it was only for Charlotte residents but could not say where it said that. Hopefully this will work out on its own.
@chucksithe They are now offering a $400 gift card bonus.

@will,
I went here to comment about this before I saw @guest_1460009's comment. BTW, the HT should go to @guest_1457589 via this comment: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-bank-account-bonuses/#comment-1457589
Anyone have DP's on what counted for DD's?
Any success funding with Citi Premier/US Bank Connect?
Not sure what your comment was... but the offer is not expired. @will @chucksithe
Got the rewards email today with the subject "Congratulations!". Amazon GC seems to be the best option. No options for Visa/MC gift cards.

Do you live in the Charlotte, NC area?
I competed all of my requirements for the bonus on August 3rd. I have not received an email with info on how to get the gift card. I called Truliant today. They said that the $250 bonus was for only people who live in Charlotte.
Did you use real DD in your case?
What were the other gift card options?

Thanks for the update. Can you give a timeline on when you opened the account and also met the requirements?
Opened on June 3 and met requirements on June 21.
I was approved and have met the requirements. Any idea of where I find the certificate when it has been awarded and how to redeem it?
Terms: "After you satisfy all of the requirements, you will receive an email notification for your reward redemption within 60 days. "
I haven't done this bonus but have seen similar programs. They typically will email a link and it will let you choose major retailers like Amazon, Target, Best Buy, WM, etc. Probably no Visa or MC. Probably an instant e-gift card, but could be physical/mailed, or you may get to pick.
Good luck. I have been putting this one off because I am concerned with Chex sensitivity.
Appreciate it! Don't know how I missed that. You just saved me a lot of time. I just called their customer service number to see how it worked and got what sounded like a 75 year old woman who had no idea what I was referring to and placed me on hold. Your email came through as I had already been on hold for 10 minutes.
Looks like it actually might be a Visa GC, if you click the Gift Card terms here: https://www.truliantfcu.org/agreements-disclosures
That's slightly better in my opinion... seems like very few made it through to find out.
Applied 7/5/22 and went pending. Denied 7/6/22. Email from Truliant stated Chex as the reason. I was 7/6, 14/12, 26/24 on inquires. Applied from GA using ACC membership.
Live out of footprint but still have access to an in footprint address (that's listed / reported on my credit reports).
-Applied on 6/12 and application went pending
-Received call on 6/14 asking for utility bill or other proof of address
-Submitted old drivers license on 6/14
-Rejected / declined on 7/1 due to Chex
