We often talk about methods of purchasing gift cards with added discounts. For example, you can purchase gift cards on eBay and rack up eBay Bucks. You can also purchase gift cards from Gyft and rack up Gyft Points.
Now, you can likewise accrue points when purchasing gift cards from giftcards.com.
Giftcards.com Rewards Program
Giftcards.com sells a wide variety of gift cards to merchants such as Amazon, Best Buy and more. They have ordinary ‘first-hand’ gift cards and also discounted ‘second-hand’ gift cards to merchants like Walmart, Target, Staples and more.
They recently started a site-rewards program which gives us 1% back in the form of store rewards to be used for a future purchase.
You need to register for this program. Go to the ‘Manage Account’ tab at the top of the page and you’ll see a Reward Program option there. Click on it and it will prompt you to ‘Get Started’. Click that and you’ll be ‘Registered’. You’ll get an email confirmation confirming your registration.
Thoughts
Earning 1% back on non-discounted gift cards isn’t amazing since you can earn 2% back by making the purchase on Gyft or 3% back by making the purchase on eBay and stacking the portal and eBay Bucks. You can also buy third-party gift cards from Staples.com and hope to get portal points as well (though it’s excluded from the terms, it sometimes works).
The more interesting part here is the 1% rebate on gift cards which are already discounted. Giftcards.com has really nice discounts on many cards and an added 1% on top of that is nice.
On a similar note, you can also get 1-2% back on discounted gift cards from Raise.com by going through the Topcashback portal, more on that in this post.

Yes VGC do earn rewards
Do Visa gift cards count in this Program?
Just purchased a Visa card to find out! Will report back.
Oh, wow. Report back
And yet still no mention of cardcash dot com which codes as "utility" and gets 5 UR points back when using an Ink card. That's on top of their discounted prices. Still trumps any of these other options.
Yeah, that's a real nice find.
Not a fan of anything related to saveya (horrible customer service experiences) but an extra 1% on discounted gift cards, count me in ;)
Any advice on SaveYa? Mailed 3 $100 Chevron GC's to them on June 4. I've yet to be paid and have said processing since June 11. Every time I call and even when I demand a supervisor they tell me they have to have someone research and they'll get back to me. No one ever contacts me and I'm thinking of calling the Better Business Bureau.
