Our Verdict

Lately we’ve seen a lot of spend $100, get $10 back deals. This time they have brought back this original promotion where you need to spend $300+ but get $15 back. Fees are on a $200 card ($6.95) and $100 card ($5.95). Make sure to use a card that earns at a high rate on office supply store purchases.

  • The closest OfficeMax by me is closing. Luckily the $15 off $300 is still working. They have a banner outside of the store. Everything is marked 10%-30% off. I have been going there for every gift card promotion since 2012 and a few of the same people still work there. The next closest store is 40 miles away, so I won't be driving there often. There are not any local news articles about it yet. It's a sad day.

  • When they say 1 offer per household, is that 1 for the whole sale, or just daily?

I.e. if I bought $400 today, can I go back tomorrow and get the same deal? Or would I need a separate ODOM account?

    • YMMV as always. I usually do the rounds twice a day, once in the morning after taking my kid to school and once in the evening after work. Some stores will let me ring up multiple transactions in one visit. Just try it and see how your local store handles it.

  • Word of caution when stacking with Dosh: I just noticed that AmEx cards are excluded from the 2% CB (Visa/MC only). Not sure when this happened, but my SCB is my usual go-to for these offers (don’t hold any Ink variants).

  • Has anybody ever been charged tax on gift cards at office depot? I bought an amazon GC and some candy the other day and was charged tax on the whole thing. Pretty sure it's never happened before on VGCs...

  • Two $200 cards are a better deal. You pay an extra $1 in fees, but get an extra $5 in credit card cash back (assuming 5% office supply category card).
