Early Account Termination Fee

Account needs to be kept open for the bonus to post

Our Verdict

Looks like you only get 10 bill pays per month for free, so that is something to keep in mind. Previous best business checking bonus was $125, this is significantly better than that and I do think this current bonus is worth doing. I’ll be adding this to our list of the best checking account bonuses.

  • Just dropped in to open a business account for the promo. They did look up my “business” on the state registrar site during opening. My sole prop business was not listed but was able to talk them into opening it as AZ does not technically require you to register your sole prop. Seems like it would really depend on the banker but should be able to open with a sole prop type business.

    • Can confirm this is also active in Houston branches. Saw this offer on placards everywhere last week alongside the personal bonus.

        • Can't remember if it was $300 or $350. Might be mixing the amounts up with the personal bonus though. I'd call into a branch and ask them about their promotions

        • Probably not. I'm still testing the household limit on the personal bonus which is giving a ton of headaches. Opening in branch and having to come in again after waiting a day on manager approval is super annoying.

          • Yeah that would be very annoying. You are waiting on a manager approval to override the household limit, or chex objections?

I was thinking possibly open personal at one branch, then biz at another.

  • 12/14/2024 Opened account in person in Houston, TX. They did not mention anything about Chex.

    • Do you also have a personal account with them? If so did you open this biz account under a sole prop. or an LLC?

      • Ah shoot, I just realized I posted this on the wrong thread. I did the personal account bonus, not the business one. Sorry!

  • The offer doesn't say it's restricted to OK and AZ, just find your nearest branch. There's one near me in CO. Tempted...

    • I just opened my account at the Cherry Creek location (a representative at the other branch said they didn't have the ability to open business accounts). Certain things to note. Make sure they are able to search you up through the CO Secretary of State website (it only costs $20 to file a document for a trade name, it processes immediately after paying) otherwise they won't open an account with you. Maybe you won't have to go through that with Reuben but Suzanna is definitely a stickler. There isn't a code they input during account opening but they do have a $250 bonus flyer that they can provide just in case they don't pay out. This is the first time I've ever heard of it but there may be an inactivity fee if you don't log into your online account at least once every month. Not sure if that one is enforced.

  • "Offer is limited to a business relationship with no existing or previous MidFirst business checking account." OUCH.
