The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Kirkpatrick Bank is offering a $300 bonus when you open a new checking account and complete the following one of the following two requirements within 90 days:
    • Have your direct deposits totaling $500 or more made to this account
    • Complete 30 debit card purchase transactions with your new Kirkpatrick Bank debit card

The Fine Print

  • Offer not available to existing Kirkpatrick Bank checking customers or those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last three years.
  • The promo ends on 10/31/2024 and your checking account must be opened by then to be eligible for bonus offer.
  • To receive the bonus, open a new Kirkpatrick Bank checking account, which is subject to approval, and complete one of the two qualifying events within 90 days of account opening date:
  • 1) Have your direct deposits totaling $500 or more made to this account. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension, or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person-to-person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account; OR
  • 2) Complete 30 debit card purchase transactions with your new Kirkpatrick Bank debit card. Multiple swipes for the same purchase amount or at the same merchant in succession do not qualify for eligible debit card purchase transactions.
  • Once you have completed one of above requirements, we’ll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.
  • To receive this bonus, the enrolled account must be open and in good standing at the time of payout.
  • There is no minimum balance to obtain the bonus.
  • The minimum opening balance is $50.
  • Bonus offer is limited to one per household.
  • Eligibility may be limited based on account ownership.
  • Must be age 18 or older.
  • Bonus is considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT. Information is accurate as of 8/01/24 and may change without notice.
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

This account has no monthly fees to worry about.

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.

Our Verdict

Always nice to see such a large bonus with no direct deposit requirement. If you go for it then please share your experiences in the comments below.

  • I opened a Savings Square account in an attempt to find a way in from OOS, but no luck. Even when attempting to add an account from online banking, the dropdown menu only gives options for OK+CO.

  • This bank is extremely strict on dd. Wise and US bank biz xfer did not count. It look like the 30 debit transactions would be the best option for most of us.

    • Did this work with debit transactions and if so did you do grocery store or something else? Their terms say, debits "cannot be successive transactions at the same merchant" too. Thanks!

  • Bonus hit a week after 30th debit transaction. Normal dds from PayPal, Venmo, and Capital One didn’t trigger the bonus for me.

    • Did you do multiple debit transactions at a store in one session and they accepted it? According to their terms such transactions do not count I would like to know so I can multiple do transactions at grocery stores. Thanks!

        • Looks like they manually review/pay the bonus - I had done a legit payroll almost a month ago and they had not paid and I was considering doing debits but decided to ask them - I emailed them from the account center and they paid.

  • Opened 9/23
Funded 10/25 - note, my CC funding @ account setup was denied, so I funded the initial $50 in the same real employer DD as the $500 (total of $550)
    Bonus paid 10/31

  • Never received the debit card, but as others have done pushed from Chase Business with Direct Deposit Payroll in the note field.

    Opening deposit $50 on 9/17
Chase Business payment of $505 on 10/9
    Checking Bonus $300 on 10/16

Didn't want to mess around with trying other DDs, but all in all pretty easy bonus on to the next one!

  • Has anyone received the bonus yet? "Once you have completed one of above requirements, we’ll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days." My treasury direct deposit was posted more than 15 days ago but no bonus.

    • I had to use the secure mail and message the customer service. The bonus showed up the next day after I emailed them.
