There is a free checking account with no monthly fees to worry about.

Early Account Termination Fee

Bonus is forfeit if account is closed within six months of account opening.

Our Verdict

Previously they have offered a $200 checking bonus, but a direct deposit was required. Need to know if there is a hard or soft pull to open.

  • Any DP on what counts as direct deposit or are people just doing 20 debit card transactions to qualify?

  • I am in NJ (14 miles to closest branch) and it let me open account with bonus offer. I confirmed proper account setup for the offer via online chat. Current offer is $200 for the checking account, then additional $100 for the savings account. Waiting to receive debit card to do the 20 transactions.

    Offer expires December 4, 2021.

  • Just a heads up, they are a pain to deal with. Account cannot be closed via any method except going into a branch. This isn't the end of the world except that THEY DID NOT CHANGE THIS DURING COVID. Yes, you read that right. When branches were closed or limited hours and COVID was raging through the US, they still encouraged me to come into a branch and insisted there was no other way to close via phone, mail, fax, etc.

    • Empty the checking account and have no activity for a couple months and they will close it for you but I was able to close my savings account over the phone...

  • DB - I'm in Central PA, and I wasn't able to even get through after entering my zip code.
"The information you have entered is not valid."

  • Just wondering but has anyone tried for 2 player mode to see if they enforce the household limit? I did this offer last year so going to try P2 and see what happens for this one.

@will just FYI, all the savings accounts have monthly fees and specifically the statement savings account has $5 monthly fee waived w/ $100 daily balance.

  • Data point: Approved for checking/savings account 10Aug. Funded $500 with US Bank Altitude Go, coded as purchase!

  • Cash app codes on their site as a 'withdrawal' and Amazon reloads are pending now. Anyone have luck with either for all 20x debits?

    • Update: Amazon reloads went through and I received 20 'Debit card Round Up Withdrawal' transfers charges, which rounds up to the next dollar and transfers that amount to my Savings. Amazon reloads confirmed charge as debit.

      • When you added the card to amazon what did you use for card number? The front of my card has 18 numbers. I tried using 18 and amazon said no go. I tried the first 16 and amazon still said no go
