  • Plynk (investing app) is offering a sign up bonus of $20 when you sign up and link an account.
  • There is also a $50 referral bonus

The Fine Print

$20 sign up bonus:

  • The $20 Sign-Up Bonus program (the “$20 Sign-Up Bonus”) is effective September 30, 2021, for qualifying new brokerage customers. To be eligible for the $20 Sign-Up Bonus, you must be a new Plynk customer and (i) download the Plynk app, (ii) sign up, and (iii) link an eligible bank account. Plynk will deposit $20 USD into your Plynk account within 30 days of your satisfying these conditions and Plynk accepting your account. Whether a qualifying customer is eligible for the $20 Sign-Up Bonus is a determination made in the sole discretion of Plynk.

$50 referral bonus:

  • The $50 Referral Bonus program (the “$50 Referral Bonus”) is effective September 30, 2021, through October 29, 2021, for qualifying existing brokerage customers who refer an individual they know personally, such as a friend or family member, via the in-app referral bonus link. To be eligible for the $50 Referral Bonus, you must be a “qualified existing brokerage customer,” meaning that you have (i) downloaded the app, (ii) signed up, (iii) linked an eligible bank account, and (iv) made a deposit of at least $100 to your Plynk account. To be eligible for the $50 Referral Bonus, your referred friends and family members who are not current or former Plynk customers must use the link provided to you via the Plynk app to (i) download the Plynk app, (ii) sign up, and (iii) link an eligible bank account. Plynk will deposit $50 USD into your Plynk account within 30 days of each referral satisfying the conditions and Plynk accepting each brokerage account. Whether a qualifying customer is eligible for a $50 Referral Bonus is a determination made in Plynk’s sole discretion.
  • There is a limit of three $50 Referral Bonuses ($50 USD each) per current Plynk customer over a 12-month period. The customer’s account must be in good standing to make qualifying referrals and to receive any $50 Referral Bonus. Plynk reserves the right to cancel or change the terms of the $50 Referral Bonus at any time and without any notice. Plynk reserves the right either to decline to grant a $50 Referral Bonus or to claw back all or a portion of a $50 Referral Bonus if Plynk determines, in its sole discretion, that there has been abuse or violation of these terms and conditions. Referral invitations may be generated only via the in-app referral bonus link.

Our Verdict

The referral terms state you need to personally know the person you’re referring, so we won’t allow referrals in the comments. As far as brokerage bonuses go this isn’t the best but the requirements are easy to meet.

  • When trying to churn Plynk, it will recognize your social security number. I gave up after seeing the notice for that.

  • @will
The $20 signup bonus is still active. There is also now a deposit match bonus of up to $22 through March 3. The promo page makes it sound as if the bonuses can be stacked, however the terms for the match bonus state that "deposits received in connection with other Plynk promotions, including the $20 Sign-Up Bonus and $50 Referral Bonus, do not qualify as qualifying deposits for the Deposit Match program" - so not sure. In any case, I'm giving it a shot - opened and already initiated a $22 deposit. Will report back.

  • Myself & P2 just received this email:

"Our gift to you: We're extending your free trial
Yes, you read that right—we’re extending your free trial until mid-2022. Consider it a little holiday gift from our team at Plynk™.
We’ve already updated your account to reflect this extension so you can continue using the app and exploring our newest features—such as Plynk Think℠, an easy way to learn investing basics and test your knowledge.
And not to worry, we’ll send you a reminder 30 days before your free trial ends.
As we look ahead to next year, we’re setting big goals, and we want to encourage you to set big goals, too. Maybe it’s investing that extra $1 or learning how the stock market works.
Just think—this time next year you’ll look back and be proud of what you accomplished.
Cheers to going after our goals together. On behalf of our entire team, thank you for investing with Plynk!
    Your friends at Plynk."

    • Tagging @Will in case he wants to update the post. I just got this as well. I sent the email to close the account anyway. Didn't care for this platform much.

    • Heh, just got my "$20 sign-up bonus is pending" email despite already getting the bonus, withdrawing it, and closing my account.

  • I'm unable to withdraw the $20 bonus and I've already waited 6 business days.. how do we withdraw or use the $20? I'm confused.. I read somewhere in the comments we should remember to cancel the subscription.. but can't find where to do that either?

    I e-mailed support 3 days ago and haven't gotten a reply yet.

    • @guest_1265248 Gotta wait 30 days.

"$20 Sign-Up Bonus payments (or any portion thereof) that are received by Plynk customers and that are not used by the customers in connection with transactions in their Plynk accounts and with any investments (common stocks, mutual funds, or exchange-traded funds) other than the default “sweep” into a Core Fund position are ineligible for withdrawal or transfer for 30 days following receipt of the $20 Sign-Up Bonus payment."

Same applies to $50 for referrer.

Cancel before the 3 month point.

      • Their website also says that if you invest those 20 dollars and later sell. Then, you can withdraw those funds without any problem. This is what I did and was able to withdraw.

  • One day they're going to run out of misspelled onomatopoeias and that will be the end of fintech.

  • Apparently FB banned their URL so that's always a good sign. I'm in. I'm assuming they have an arb clause lol
