Our Verdict

Last year the deal was to get a $5 Amazon credit with a $25 Amazon gift card purchase. It’ll likely be the same or something similar this year; we’ll find out in a few hours when it goes live.

  • It appears this offer can be done more than once, similar to the text messaging offer from a few months ago and last year. I have already done this, received, and used my $5 credit. I am still seeing the promo on the site and in my app. When i follow the instructions, and checkout, it confirms that i qualify for the offer so i did it again.

    I might do it a few more times....

    In the past (the text messaging one) most of them posted automatically. I had one instance where it did not, and i brought it to the chat supports attention and they manually credited me the $5 (even after having done the offer several times).

    I recommend taking a screenshot showing the order info and the message at the bottom that confirms you qualify for the promo, for good measure my screenshot included the current time and date though that's probably not necessary since that is in the order info itself.

    Good extra 20% off (plus $1 digital credit for no-rush shipping), worst case, in the rare situation where it doesn't credit automatically, and amazon upholds the 1 limit per account and won't manually credit it, you get stuck with some amazon gift cards...in my experience not a big deal...

    • DId the same and purchased a second and third time on my acc, but didn't receive any credit.

  • Terms and conditions state:

    "In order to qualify for the promotional credit, you must: (1) be an Amazon.com Prime member."

      • The terms of the offer say that it's only valid for gift cards, which based on another part of the terms seems to be treated differently than gift card balance reloads. But I didn't try a reload. But it's not a big deal, since you can email a gift card to yourself and then reload your balance with it.

    • Also make sure you buy from desktop not on mobile. I purchased in app (IOS) and didn’t get the $5 promo confirmation. A couple other people (at Dan’s Deals) had the same problem, so heads up.

        I got the " “This gift card has already been applied to your account balance”.

        I cancelled app order Got the same red letter account balance message. But on the Desktop I got another message below stating that it would be e-mailed ($5 credit within 2 days) .

  • credit says 2 business days to apply but typically I've gotten them right away. still waiting!

  • I've added an egift card to my cart and added the promo code, but when plugging the code in at checkout it reads "This gift card has already been applied to your account balance". Anyone know what the problem is?

    • @guest_783051 if you clipped the promotional offer then you don't need to apply the code again.

        • It worked on eGC for me. It doesn't give you a discount on this purchase, but the checkout page showed a message saying that I qualify for the promotional credit (which will be sent to me in a couple days).
